Do bindings really matter

yeah, def to a degree. it becomes more of an issue as you get better, and start going bigger. if your just startin out or not doing anything too nuts, most bindings will work just fine. but as you start going bigger and riding harder, you can definitely get some serious benefits by picking the right clamps. DIN range is only part of the equation, theres elasticity, retention, even mounting pattern.

yea that way you can just wear shoes, its alot more comfortable, not quite as good as full tilts though

yea bindings are unimportant. I just bolted some old nikes to my skis and used some gorilla glue for extra protection so those bitches are definitely keeping me in.

one time i duct taped two pieces of wood to my shoes and did a grindbar in my backyard id recommend it

ummmm yes bindings are very important to your set up. get something with a din above 12

....but i mean if you think they dont really matter you can always use gorilla glue and duct tape. i heard thats the set up a lot of the pros are riding these days

last year i had hell bents and i skiied em with regular marker demo bindings and when i bought em i got jesters and it made a world of difference the wider foot print of the jesters and griffins, makes a huge difference for fatter skis

high tops or normal though? My friend was telling me that Tanner wouldn't have broken his ankles if he only he had bolted his fresh high tops on instead of his older, normal shoes.

I don't think its the binding that are important. Bolts or glue or whatever method of binding you want, it all does the same job. Its all about the footwear you use, I think..

May I be the first to predict an epic thread? Its still early, but there are many directions this fiendishly simple question can go. How about some creative photoshops?

i can somewhat tell your a large human that sits on ns all day instead of skiing?

yeah?

no doubt a rad site. prolly my fav. but honestly man/woman/herm. get out.

if the bindings on your old skis are still good and you have no bad ejects. no prob on mounting them on a new pair of skis.

your call.

I don't know why people ever started using bindings.... I've been using ducttape and NEVER prerelease

You sir, are going to get somebody's knees ripped off. Please name one 90 lb girl who skis at a DIN of 12. (or even 11, 10, 9,8,7) I mean seriously.. I weigh 180 lbs and I've got my DIN @ 9... and it takes a good amount for them to release. 12 DIN bindings are perfectly fine for 90% of the people on NS.

I think biggest advantage of bindings with max din over 12 is durability. They just start getting stronger. You can still have a lower din setting on s914s or p14s or higher. You'll be able to keep higher din binding around for a while.

I honestly believe that higher DIN bindings are safer. It's not just DIN setting to take into account, its materials.

I would rather rock a p18 binding at 9 than I would a p14 at 12. Guess which one I would release more on?

plastic bindings break. I've seen 100 lb kids snap plastic bindings like no other. And I am by no means a big kid and I've gone through more pairs than I can count, and that's saying something since most kids are taller/heavier than me.

Get some of these
