Do bamboo sidewalls make a difference?

I found a great deal on some Liberty Hazmats, but they don't have the bamboo sidewalls. Does the bamboo make that big of a difference versus the traditional?

the bamboo make the skii much more lighter than tradional maple core or wood.

im not sure on the flex it alows but i would imaging they are a not to stiff and not to soft because i were looking at some and flexed them by hand and they were legit.

libertys are know to be very stiff but they have improved much !

All Hazmats have bamboo in the cores. I'm talking about how they made half with taditional sidewall matierial and half with bamboo sidewalls.

I've never had good luck with bamboo sidewalls. They crack, and then water gets into your core unless you plaster them with epoxy.

What skis have you used with bamboo sidewalls?

Old Gotamas had wood sidewalls and they got damaged really easily.

i bet pandas like ski more with bamboo skis than any maple skis...

Gotamas. As mentioned directly below you. There is a reason they no longer use Bamboo sidewalls on any of the Volkl models. Also the Dps lotus 138 has bamboo sidewalls and I have heard a few cases of those ($1000 skis) having sidewall cracking issues as well.

This is interesting. I was expecting the complete opposite.
