Do any kids under 16 even do big mountain? Because everyone is caught up in the park. Also, I was wondering who still sponsors big mountain people. No one seems interested in sponsoring someone who is good at big mountain these days. Jibbers are a dime a dozen.

I ski it, same with my friends Travis and Ryan. We're not pros but we're all 16 and get in a lot of backcountry skiing in. We don't have real big mountain stuff but when we're in the alpine (1/4 of the ride down) there's some big mountain style stuff, but most of it ends up in the trees.

Next year when we get beacons we'll be skiing down the other site where there are no trees so it's basically all big mountain. Travis stomped a 35foot cornice on that side so I'm stoked for next year when we go down there.

dude right here i ski big mountain all the time.I go out to utah for 4 weeks every winter n hit up alta/snowbird and solitude. When im home i ski gore and tuckermans. I sponsored by my local shop but no companies like k2

 
we have to ski big mountain, and we're under 16, but if you are raised at a big mountain resort the park is soooo ez

Ya if you can ski big mountain the park is easy.I barely ski park though. I used to ski park but now I use my expierience in the BC

i wish man...im in a small mountain in new brunswick canada....i have skied big mountain in whistler and fernie and im goin back to fernie next year but i dont do it al lthe time

im 15 and i love to ski the powder. to prove it, i have a vid of me getting in an avalanche this year when i was backcountry skiing up on loveland pass. thats some really fun stuff, not to bad of a hike either. the stupid cornice at hte top of the run crumbled when i went over it. how dumb

Haha, oh man! What are you talking about?!? So many people are big mountain riders. Almost everyone I know that ski's is sick at shredding more than park... Where are you from because obvioulsy you don't know where to look, or who you're looking at...

im 15 and try to ski as much big mtn as i can, but since i live in wisconsin its kinda hard to do that seeing the only time i get to do big mtn is our yearly trip to jackson, but if i were at a resort that had some i would spend 80% or more of my time devoting to it

i'm 15 and like pow much more than the park. falling doesn't hurt as much, and it's not as trick oriented which is good since i can't do sqaut. big drops and steep chutes are fun.

this doesn't mean i don't like the park. especially at okemo, since we're not much for big mountain. the park is where you focuse on learning stuff and trying new things.

i dont doubt people ski bc but most people are not skiing big mountian... i ski in the backcountry alot but dont call it big mountain.... the only stuff in washington that even starts to clasify as big mountain is some stuff at baker...nobody even try to say that crystal does

yeah i like in connecticut but whenever i ski in up north in vt i always ski the trees a lot more than the park, and also the 2 times ive been out west i skied only big mountain, i actually think its a lot more fun that park and i like it a lot more

All the little groms in Whistler ski Big Mountain. We even had a Freeskiing / Big Mountain comp for them a couple weeks ago. Most of them killed it up there.

crystal is sick man. and the king offers some nice steep skiing. pinball is like 60 degrees man. it gives a nice 'big mountain' feel. anyway i sking the cascade backcountry and actual mountains in the range. like hood etc. just clarifying.

the key is to take terrain park tricks to big mountain. shit man. im 14 and we done even have a terrain park, so all i can do is big mountain anyway. kids here are crazy at cliffs and shit cause thats all they can ski. my friend can backflip and 720 this one 20 footer and hes 15.

I ski the big mountain runs but i'm 17 so my vote does not count. And Australia has such limited big mountain skiing anway!!

I am 13 and I ski big mountain about 98 percent of the time. I just ski park in the spring or when the conditions suck

um...i doubt a lot of people here have actually skied big mountain before. just because you like to ski powder does not mean you're a big mountain skier. put in some time hiking into the BC on skins and touring plates and ski nasty couloirs and you might qualify

as for big mountain skiers under 16, i believe kye peterson has been doing some backcountry stuff

Yeah man, up here in a place i like to call Alta Utah big mountain skiing is where its at. In fact Alta doesnt even have a park. I know plenty of under 16's and myself who rock it down the chutes and off the cliffs and mixin the bowls.
