Hey guys, so in another thread factory81 and I decided we'll have a battle, were each gonna put a half hour mix down and let you guys decide who takes the cake. Deadline is tomorrow at 12am tonight. Bring your A game factory81.

Well I suppose this means war. Man your battle stations, or dj consoles.

Hope you guys enjoy some beats. You should be able to download it. Soundcloud takes a few minutes so it might not be working right this seconds.

Yeah. I liked the AC Slater Everyday Hustle....

But I was just finishing up round two...

Nother 32 minute mix up as soon as this song is finished playing.

Yo, those were both awesome. I love dubstep and I think The Theif did a great job with it. But you could have made it flow together a little bit better. And factory81's was great and I really liked the mix of genres of songs but it got a little repetitive and took awhile to get to songs in it and stuff. I gotta give it to factory81 but The Theif's was still sooo sick. Good job to both of you those were sick.

I'll throw more down tonight and try and move through the songs quicker. I usually DJ for a couple hours at a time at house parties and stuff.

I like to play all different styles but electro house / prog house seems to do the trick most of the time.

my threadssss, i really liked both in round 1, excited to see how round 2 comes out

and yeah factorys first really did sound alot like deadmau5 haha

S'Ok i just made another half hour, a couple shit transitions due to the lack of a headphone jack but I think you guys will like this one more. it'll be up in like 15 minutes

what program do you use?

i have djay but is there a better one?

and where do you guys get your acapellas and instrumentals from..

I haven't used any instrumentals, i dont know about factory, but for acapella's just try and get them in torrents, there kind of hard to find but you'll find em. as for programs, any will do, there all pretty similar, im not familiar with djay but its probably like all the others. DL virtual dj, its a good one if you have no shit, and you'll also learn the basics of how everything works.

Traktor Scratch Pro with a Hercules DJ Console RMX btw

and the rest...the intertubes

stay tuned though

starting recording now. give me 39 minutes and i will have a 30 minute set up

how much was your set up?

and if i wanted to start djaying legitly

where do you learn all your shit from

This guy has a ton....ton of videos on how to DJ. I haven't watched any in a while. Maybe I should? Haha... anyways

Traktor Scratch Pro is a couple hundo I think

Hercules DJ Console RMX is like $349.

Then you need a pretty good pair of headphones. (round $80-100).

My friend just got a Torq Xponent from M-Audio and I am thoroughly jealous of that toy. I paid $229 open box for my console, he paid $350 for his console used, and got a steal on it. He has like 10 more rotary knobs then I do.

If you want to go on the cheap with a rather non DJ looking device...that does everything a DJ controller can do essentially

This guy here has your 3 rotary knobs for low, mid, and high. Then you have your sliders.......it doesn't have a built in sound card so your computer will need to act as your sound card device (remember your sound card plays to the monitors and to your headphones)

dude just buy a midi controller off ebay (150$) and download the program and teach yourself. My second mix was completely internal because I was bored at my friends studio and had my laptop (no midi just laptop. But both mixes might aswell be internal because I dont have an audio jack anymore so I have to guess a lot of them time, which is why some of my transitions are good and some of them suck and why factory has mostly good tranny's. Buying a new midi in a couple weeks, probably gonna spend 4-5 hundred on it. check out the Behringer BCD2000, thats a good started midi.
