Is there a diy thread on here concerning ski building, outerwear making and general diy ski gear? If so could some one point me to it, if not should/could this be the official thread for that sort of thing.

My friend broke his pole so he ripped the grips and baskets off, went in the woods to grab sticks, shaved them down with his ski and now refuses to buy real poles because every time they break, he just does this again.
 
I've heard nothing but good things about DIY bindings...

stop debating and make them yourself today! You'll find the tutorial for your perfect binding online
