Diving Board to Jump

I was wondering how diffrent it is to do a trick from a diving board to learning it off of a jump. Because I can do misties on the diving board no problem but I am nervous to try one on a jump. So is it a lot diffrent or am I safe trying one off of a jump?

trampolines and diving boards help...but not that much. You can get basic rotations but when you're out there you just have to give'r and commit.

idk i gotta tramp and i can dub linoln loop and got rodeos and almost cork 10's and stuff but i cant do any of that shit on skis yet... i think its alot different

the only difference is that bailing in the park hurts much more than bailing in water or on the trampoline...

if i was able to do every trick i can do on the tramp or the diving board, i would a pretty good skier :)

so different. it's all about the take off, and a diving board is nothing like ski lip when youi're haulin ass with forward momentum. probably helps with control in the air a bit, but I wouldn't go hucking yourself just because you landed one on a diving board

Okay, so here is how I see it, the diving board/tramp, teaches you how to throw the flip, how it feels, but when you get on skis it is completely different because of forward momentum and going fast, and all that stuff...but it does help as the FIRST step for learning a new trick.
