ditching ski patrols

all the ski patrols at my mountain are a bunch of tight asses. if u get air off the tiniest little kicker theyll come after you and bitch at you, does anyone have any methods of ditching ski patrols while theyre chasing you?

dude, just outski them. there are prolly only 1-2 patrollers on my mountain that could keep up with me

hmmm, but what if that 1 or 2 gets on your ass, then your screwed... i would just see what the patrol is gettin on your case for and see what you can do to not happen again, its pretty easy

if you talk to them, see what there beef is, and what you can do about it,

i usually stay, unless i'm already skiing, then i act like i didn't see them and ski really fast

just stay and talk to em, be nice and make jokes... its easy. just make friends, most really dont care what you do, they just want u to do it where they cant see. believe me on this one, so many times have i built jumps and i know and have talked to all the ski patrol, some are dicks though. just deal wit em and dont run. show respect, i know some cool ski patrol, and i wouldn't be suprised if they do save your ass some time

my friend got stop for skiing through the opening in a lift line at like 2 mph, and then the patroller thought he be the fucker he his and give us week suspensions for 'vulgar behavior towards others, and reckless behavior in lift lines' curious I thought, since we hadn't even seen another person up there yet, and since I already had a warning, I just skied away as he was trying to get my friend to 'cough up ' his pass just as I skied over the lip of the road I heard him yell 'hey get back here. But it was to late, a straightlined a steep black diamond flew mach ten into a gully, took of my outer shirt, goggles gloves, and stuffed them into my pants, then skied down to the lodge as a waved at the 3 patrollers searching for me,

what an adrenaline rush!

Hey guys, I know some ski patrols can be pricks. I do alot of ski patrol at my hill, and usually I try and be friendly and i'm usually riding the park in my staff jacket :P. I just make sure theres no little guys building kickers across the landings of tables and stuff. If you took off and I wanted to talk to you then I might get a little pissed off because I like riding, not chasing people down. At the same time I know that some guys are total pricks and take passes for no other reason than to compensate for their small (*&#. you just gotta take your chances...run or don't...but if i take your pass after I had to chase you down the hill then don't act like i'm a prick.

yeah i haven't seen a lot of patrollers that just want to pull passes, but if you talk to them they are usually cool. unless they work at crystal mountain in washington. they have dumb rules that they enforce hard core. but yeah talk to them their skiiers like us

some ski patrolers can be pricks but its only because those guys have seen 12 year old girls with snapped necks, Snapped fibia/tibia protruding through the skin, arms twisted as fuck. notices how all the older ski patrolers seem to be the bigger pricks - its because they've been skiing 40++ years, seen pretty much some of the most grusome stuff to realise that skiing is a very dangerous sport.

So show some respect for them. They probably don't want you jumping where you are jumping cause its probably dangerous for other people (fact is they probably couldn't give a shit about the smart-ass kid who thinks hes the newschool king!) or maybe if you did hurt yourself there could be insurance problems which could arise and that particular patorler would get in trouble for not doing his job.

why would the hill build a table and then the ski patrol bitch at you? Doesn't make sense to me....

yeah the ones at my mountain are retards none of them actually ski they all just stand around by the slow sign and yell at you to slow down, they are really stupid though because one time i was goin really fast and i slowed down a lot at the end of the hill and he started yelling at me, and he threatens to clip my pass and all, then this old lady goes flying by and he doesnt do shit, ot kind of annoys me because he stops me because im a teenager on twins and he doesnt stop the lady because she is old, and she is really the one who is gonna hit someone and not me

You were probably hitting a jump on a groomed run.

Talk to the patrollers and find out where they draw the line - - try not to cross the line without a lookout. Most likely, they can't and won't do anything if you are off-the-groomed hitting airs - - maybe you should build your own kickers in some out-of-the-way stash.

 
I can usually talk my way out of it. But if that doesnt work, your scrued. Even if your fast as balls they have radios to call people at the bottom of the mountain! and I damn well cant run in my ski boots carrying my skis!

 
i ususally stop and listen to them and argue if its apropriate, but if they get mad at u for goin off jumps dont run cause u got a concrete point agaisnt them there

guy6236 most terrain parks are groomed and going off a jump on a groomed run is fine, they probably just dont want him going off jumps period

ignore then and make sure they cant see your pass.. then if they do stop you make sarcastic coments and try to mke them sound wrong then bolt... they don't know how to ski anyways they are just paraedics on boards
