Disrespect and Frustration

Ok, I haven't ranted about anything in awhile. And I think that one is due.

Ok, so here it comes..

NS is rampant with disrespect for other's opinions, and I am absolutely sick of it. This is exactly what ruined the Freeze forum, the PBP forum, etc. One person states their opinion, and the next person chimes in with: 'FUCK YOU, MY OPINIONS RIGHT.' No supporting facts, no collaborating evidence, nothing. Just a complete disregard for that person. I see several intelligent arguments turn into piles of shit when someone joins in and starts in on somebody. Now, I know about internet anonyminity and such, and I know that a lot of us don't know each other. But Try to keep the arguments intelligent. Your point is not well taken when you start calling the person names, or insulting them. It usually just means that you lost. If you lose, you lose, just admit it.

I am frustrated the most by people with horrible grammer who insult others. Making up words, using misspelled words, strange forms of ebonics, horrible grammer... etc... how would you visualize a person who is sending you this message.

'FUOCK U U PEESE OF SHIT! I DNOT LIEK YOUR OPININ SO IM GONA KIK YUOR ASS!!!!!!1111 REPRIZENT!!!!!111'

Obviously, not intelligent, not very old, and most likely having some sort of mental disorder... I have actually gotten messages like this before.

Try to keep things civil, there is nothing more frustrating than posting a pic/movie/post, and coming back, and having it filled with people starting trouble (or stupid posts, but thats just darryl)

Man don't argue with the guy, you just lost. I'll put this at you damn level. Someone comes up to you and their like dude you don't know shit about shit and your like I know you are but what am I. In conclusion you need to stop watching som much Pee Wee Herman and recognize that Andy's trying to keep this forum from degenerating to the Freeze forum level.

Good on you Andy. I've only been coming here since November last year and even in that short I've seen it change. I liked it on here because you were free to express your opinions and noone would blast you for them, but now its changing- it'd be nice if it could just go back to the way it was!

Theres nothing wrong with disagreeing with opinions. But theres a way to do it. And that is having facts,a nd presenting them in decent manner. If you try to argue any other way, you lose automatically because noone will take u seriously.

haha, this is great. andy i totally agree with you about trying to keep this forum from degenerating into the freeze forum and stuff, but ill be honest, i really like the way this works. the main contributors and people who do it once and a while are a very good bunch of guys and girls who really make this site great.. sure every once in a while we get some bad eggs around here, but for the most part its decent, i think. people's opinions and sometimes their harsh expressions for others can be quite funny sometimes, as long as its done in good taste and all.

however, i disagree when it comes to the whole thing about grammar and spelling and all. i'm not going to run my post through a fucking grammar checker or something to make sure its all nice.. this isnt english class. i dont like using capital letters or apostrophes much, and i try to type as fast as i think so of course there going to be errors. im not awful either (and i agree, some people are) but i certainly get whatever point im trying to make across. if everyone used this stuff we'd get instant messages that look like:

'dear sir, in response to your aformentioned statement, i have this thought: bla bla bla. sincerely, dave' on every line! ok so thats an exaggeration but eh whatever. ok im done.

Ok, so mabye I was wrong on the grammer part, but grammer is something that drives me nuts, but only if its glaring and blatantly stupid (like the above example sentance) :-)
