I was wondering if someone could tell me how to do this? I have a ton of space being taken up but I feel like I may have some hidden large files or something. How to display hidden files? Gracias

well i have limewire and i had a lot of incomplete files on my cmputer taking up a 1g/ go to the finder, documents, incomplete, selectall and drag em into the trash bin

I know all about the limewire incomplete folder. That is not what I am asking. I am asking how to display folders that appear invisible.

wow this is werid i was actually just about to post this question.

my understanding so far is that osx does not have a option like windows to display hidden files.

you have to actually download a program that will allow you to view them.

as for the program names, no idea. but if you find out be sure to let me know too.

and let me guess, you want to view the hidden files on your ipod??

what version of osx do you have? with 10.4 and later you can view them easily. 10.3.9 and earlier is a bit tricky but you dont need a program. just the right settings.

if you have an idea of where the directories are you can use the Terminal app

this requires knowledge of things like cd, ls and rm though

sweeeeet. Thank you very much. I have since solved the problem. My computer was telling me that I had 18.8 gigs of space being used on my Desktop, but every single file was invisible. I just deleted the desktop and restarted my computer and everything was fine. Surpisingly.
