Dislocated knee caps

I dislocated both my knee caps and was told today that i will probaly be out for the season.

Has this ever happened to anybody?

I dont see anything that is good in life anymore. I work as an instuctor and now I cant even work. Cheer me up.

Dang girl thats cold. I know how it feels cuz last yr i tore some meniscus and missed a trip to utah. I donno what to say other then go get some books, some movies, and food, cuz your gonna be layed up for a while. Im sorry tho!

onr tme a guy dislocated one knee cap ina basketball game i was in that lokked so painfull...i cant imagine both

hope you get wll soon

arent your knee caps just floating around in front of your tibia/fibia/femur? hence why you can move it around? I dont really know.

gahhhh ='[ im sorry. never happened to me but sounds sucky. but theres much worse. ull be back... u can do summer seshs and then next year u can be more careful. i hope u get better bud

peace

yeah I’ve done that twice. I took me about 6 weeks to skiing again but only one of my knees were hurt. It sucks because your lateral tendons get stretched out and worse with time. I subluxated (partial dislocation) my knee caps about 8 times last year. So take care of your self and listen to your physical therapist.

My girlfriend dislocated her knee cap last weekend, and it was probably a season ender for her too, although there's a chance she'll be able to ski in a few months. Sorry about the injury and best of luck with the recovery!

good luck with the recovery

this sorta thing happened to my friend in gym about 5 years ago and he was out almost the whole baseball season

I dislocated mine which chipped a piece off of my knee cap and tore my acl. Its nothing surgery cant fix. I'd have surgery done on it asap, and make sure you do everything the doctors and physical therapists tell you.

p.s.: dont try and come back before you are absolutely 100% bc your knee will not heal right and its just not good in the long run...cheer up bc its not the end of the world

Wow, that really fucking sucks. I am a full-time instructor and I couldn't imagine being out of work. Best of luck to you girl.

I've dislocated one knee cap before in rugby. It was weird, it went around the side to the back, as well as straining ligaments in my knee. The only thing I remember was laughing, the pain wasn't at all bad.

yes actually something like that happend to me two years ago, they called it "Patella subluxacion" which is where your knee (patella) subluxes (moves off its track. luckily for me through weight lifting and gradual healing i was better within a month, however dislocating both jknee caps will take a while to heal, but stay determined, and u should get better

i did one of them last week skiing in deep pow. i guess i just have mad loose knee caps and weak muscles surrounding them. i didnt even fall or anything.

the left one i did on sunday just standing in the lift line. i had to slide it back into place with my hand and still had to teach for 3 more hours that day.

so today i went skiing even though my doc told me not to and my knees are totally swollen and im having trouble walking. is it possible to keep popping them out and is there any way to stabilize them without a brace?

Don't ski. It might be your job, but your knees aren't something you should even think about fucking around with. I've got bad knees right now just because I didn't see a doctor when I had first injured them.

Seriously, don't take it as a joke. Do what your doctor says, and nothing else. And rehab hard.

so i met with my doctor who told me shit, and i cant see a real knee doc till the end of the month.

it's gonna be a long fucking month

Positive vibes for healing sent.

Sounds annoying. I would suggest taking up knitting or crochetting, both are great ways to be creative and pass time, plus you can make some awesome stuff and sell it too.

i tore my mcl in like 2001 but it got ignored cause my brother brok his back, sturnum, splean, and all his ribs the same day. would the mcl play any part in the caps?

Yes.

Make sure you bring that up with your knee doctor when you see him. Knees are intricate things.

i tore my miniscus, and my kneecaps 'dislocate' in this wierd way. they stick out on the inside, and occasionally, with no pressure on my leg, ill snag them on something, and it will knock the kneecap around to the side of my knee. it measures in pain with cramps in the back of your knee, so i usually hit the deck in agony for like 10 minutes then it feels okay. does anyone have this?

My brother split his knee cap in half before... also both him and my dad tore ACL's.

Lets just say we're a soccer family. I need to buy some new braces for my knees, 10+ years of soccer really kills them. Now that I'm taking up skiing every weekend its going to hurt.

Your shoulders tendons aren't nearly as delicate to stretching and tearing as your knees, dislocating your caps allows your knee tendons to stretch/tear pretty bad. Shoulder ligaments aren't as touchy if yadadadamean.
