Dislocated elbow

So I dislocated my elbow back in November, and I feel like it should have the full range of motion back by now but I just can't get it back. I've seen the doc twice and went to the pt he recommended and did all the stretches etc. I've been skiing with it like this all season basically, and it doesn't really affect anything skiing-wise except when I plant my poles. Have any of y'all dealt with this before and how long did it take before your arm felt normal again?

Yo! It's been 2 years now and I'd say just in the past 3 months it's felt back to 100%. Hang in there, it's a shitty injury and takes time to heal.

Similar case. luckily early pt allowed me to get full rom back within 4 to 6 months. just keep going at it

My friend had problems with dislocating his shoulder. If he would land on it wrong it would pop out. He knew how to pop it back in so he could fix it right away.

All I heard is that you will be more prone to dislocations, but it will heal nicely. It's not as big of a deal like a tendon tear

Oof, two years seems like such a long time for this thing to finally feel normal, but if that’s how long it takes then so be it

I slightly dislocated my elbow and playing guitar was a nightmare for 2 months.

Same here. My left elbow was the one that was dislocated so making any sort of chord shape was a massive pain in the ass cuz I couldn’t put any pressure on the damn strings

I had it on the right and it really sucks because I’m a metal musician and i am constantly down picking and tremolo picking over 200 bpm.

Wish you a speedy recovery my dude. I dislocated my elbow years back. It sucked. I took a hard fall to my arm and my elbow completely spun around and tore all my ligaments in my arm. But the good news is if you just take it easy on it for a little while and then do some light weight training, you should be back to 100 in a few months.
