All hostoric and present dates are listed as Before Christ and After Death. For example we are presently in the year 2001AD. Why, if less than the entire population of the world believes in Jesus, does everybody conform to this?

which stands for After Death. Well they call it BCE (Before common era) and CE (Common Era) now to be politically correct. But the reason for the Whole thing was that Christian Monks started todays calender. So one of the monks in 400 AD calculatied when christ died and figured out what year it was compared to Jesus's death. So thats why a lot of people are saying that the calender is actually about 4-5 years off because The exact date wasn't calculated right.

Before the time that the calender was started I'm pretty sure that the romans (who had taken over a lot of the world) counted years as the era of their king. So when the Roman Empire became Catholic and the calender was invented all of Rome adopted the calender. So the rest of the world had to follow.

you forget that there more to the world than just what the Christians have touched. Civilization all over the world probably had their own calenders and stuff too.

Yeah but rome was the biggest empire ever. so basically when they adopted the calender the rest of the world had no choice but to use it. There are other calenders (Chinese, Aztec) but the current calender spread from england to India because they were under Roman rule making it the most widely used.

also the romans calender and clock were only off by like 60 seconds, something crazy like that

Yeah it is 'the year of the lord' It still has the same meaning though. 90 A.D. Is said as 'the 90th year of our lord'. Meaning that it is 90 years since the resurection of Jesus. Because it was his resurrection that made Jesus our lord. so you can see how it still means after death.

Very good point. We do subject to confomrity and all other religions such as Hindu and the like should take offense to this, but there is nothing they can do about it.

Other religions do take offense, but like you said its not like you can change it. Its the almost the same as how everyone calls tissues 'Kleniex'(that has to be the worst spelling ever), its just public habbit to use BC and AC it would be almost imposible to change it within our lifetimes.
