Disc brake help

hey can n e one help me with my problem? i kno this is a skiing site but i figured hey sum'1 here should have an idea...

This the a question I sent to some bike helper guy but he didnt answer it yet.

I recently bough a bike with Tektro Auriga 1's hydraulic discs and the front brake has lost almost all power. I cleaned the rotor and pads, and checked to make sure there was enough fluid. I figured it had to be bled so I looked all over the internet for Tektro mineral oil and a Tektro bleed kit. Im sorry, but Tektro is horrible at marketing important accessories. Where can I get a bleed

kit (if i even need one) and what kind of oil do I use? Any specific brands?

Also, do you think bleeding will solve my problem?

allright start off by checking your brake line to see if theres any kinks in it. One good kink can cause the whole break to not work. If the line checks out you may want to check the depth set on the brake and the line. If its not put in properly the you culd have lost or are losing enough fluid to make the brake unoperational.

Oh, and join the NS BIKERS cult.

ude sometimes if u just keep using ur brakes they work again, cuz if it gets very hor or cold the fluit will harden or soften and make braking weird. so just play with it and iff all else fails bring it to a shop

first, Tektros wouldnt be my first choice of disk break in the first place, but i wont get into that here.

other than checking your LBS, you could check out the online stores like pricepoint, bikeroom, or any others. They usually have a variety of stuff lying around in stock that your lbs wont carry.
