Disappearing Skiers

Over the years there has been plenty of super talented skiers that just kinda dropped off the face of the earth.

Example: Austin Torvinen

Who else was super sick and disappeared/ was forgotten about? maybe post an edit of theirs too.
 
What the FUCK happened to Maks Gorham? Last thing I saw from him he was jumping out of halfpipes at absurd speeds. Haven't seen much else from him.

Other examples:

Peter Olenick

Jon Brogan

Kieran McVeigh

Shea Flynn
 
McVeigh never left, you all are just sleeping...

Kieran is doing well. Took his last final today and has an internship in San Diego for the summer. One more year of college for him.

How has no one mentioned Charlie Ager, last time I saw anything from him was in tracing skylines

Its simple.

There isn't that much money in skiing and at some point you may have to get a job that doesn't allow you to ski as much as you used to. I know when you're young it's easy to say "fight the man! don't give up the dream", but not everyone wants to make $10-$12/hr the rest of their life and that's ok.

This is correct. When you are young and willing to live on basically nothing this sort of lifestyle is no big deal. When you get older you realize that unless you are in the very lucky few, and I mean very few, you will have to move on. For most professional skiing pays next to nothing anyway.

I lived in Tahoe for 5 years between college and grad school. When I was up there I knew a guy who was in the top 20 in mogul skiing in the U.S. After a few years he quit and went to college. Now I hear he lives in Denver with a very flexible white collar job. He works 3 14 hour days then skis 3-4 days a week. He will be able to afford to go heli-skiing someday and still ski a ton.

He announced last year (I think) that he was done. He just surfs now in the carribean I think. Still skis but not as a profession.

Im wondering what happened to people like Craig Coker, Michael Clarke, the upcomers of the 06/09 era

Both Coker and Clarke film professionally. Coker does a lot of drone filming and Clarke does commercial shit for brands like under armor

Sucks that these guys weren't getting enough support. I really wonder what Shea and Charlie were getting from their sponsors. Seems like these two got fucked pretty bad, I wonder what exactly happened for Cole though. Line was promoting him pretty well I'd say.

As for the Tabarnak Pack, I guess you can only do it for the love for so long, as these guys were filming with other film companies for a while before that.

Simon retired and might do some more film stuff. STEPT is now a videography company and films adds and stuff. (obviously alot cooler than that)

I know that nick martini is more into that kinda stuff now but i mean like clayton, shea, sean, alex, and the rest of the skiers
