she could be flooded, my crf did that the next day after i bought it. dont no how but it did. kicked it for a good hour or soand nothing. hold it wide open and kick away, or hook it up to something and get pulled and then ride it around and clear the motor out.

 
^yepp just hold it wide open and kick, thats how my pitbike is when you crash it. but this weekend it wasnt starting, and it wouldnt start wide open either, we pulled it behind one of our quads and it still just sputtered but wouldnt fire, so then the next day we got a new plug and it started first kick.

I'm thinking about getting a 1996 honda xr 80... I know it's a small engine, but it's just to mess around at the cottage with. No jumps, just dirt roads and slow technical trails.

Is this a small, medium or large bike>

and does someone have a really good reason for me not to buy it?

wont be worth it. get at least an xr200. mine has enough power, and im doing the same shit as you. if i would be doing anything else besides riding around the yard and the occasional trail, id want something bigger. so i dont think an 80 would suit your needs. by the way, how big are you?

yeah dude if ur gettin a trail bike AT LEAST get a 200. like a wr250f would be good cuz it has a lot of power but its rather mellow. that is full size and if ur kinda little i agree w/ snapjibber an xr 200 would be good

 
naw, i'm pretty big (200 pounds, 6,3'). Is it really good for nothing (the xr 80) ? Seriously, it'll just be riding around dirt roads that are windy and slow trails, so i could get a big sprocket on the back and it'd have decent torque, no?

motocross won't be a big hobby, just something to kill time and get to my friends houses...

I don't want to spend more than 1000$, so should i just get an older but bigger machine instead of this?

and when everyone says it small, are you talking about the engine, or the actual size of the bike?

 
200 is way too much for an 80. my dad is about 230 and he bottoms out the suspension on my 200

the whole bike is small. my 200 is only like 32 inch seat height. believe me man, an 80 would be way too small. look for an older 250 or something.

go to honda.com and look at the CRF80 and all the specs. trust me get at least a 200cc or maybe a 125 2-stroke like the pic i posted above

ya dude i ride a 250f. its set up to race but i can still take it out on the trails and be fine cuz it has a lot of low end torque. if you get a 2 stroke get like a 125, a 4 stroke like a 200 or 250

personally i hate dirtbikes, mostly because all of the skids and rednecks here ride around on them and rewin all of our mountain bike jumps and our park, fuckers!

if money isnt an issue, try to find a kawasaki kx100 or something. its the same ize as the XR but it will have a little more power.

I'm rockin on a cr 250, we hit up a local track, and ride pits/woods

.................at that point I started to cry...mainly 'cause I sat on my balls. I banged this chick so hard one time..she had to adjust her cant.
 
money is prob the biggst issue of it, right now i have 370$ and the bikes 450$. i want it before august and ill prob hav the money in 2 or 3 weeks. i also think a kx100 would be too big for me, ive sat on a kx80 and i could barely touch and it would take me a while to learn how to handle it. i think next summer im gonna start saving too and get a 80cc 2-stroke...maybe a 125 if i can fit on one by then

I just got my Honda TRX450R two days ago, It is a real performer, stock. I installed a white brothers e2 pipe today, k&n filter, Outwears prefilter and took off my airbox lid. I am installing a 180 main jet to accompany the "leaness" of my new mods. I will also install a stage 1 or 2 hotcam once the guys done tuning my carb. Man I'm excited. I'll post a picture of it when my graphics kit and shockwears show up.

Well, it's my first quad I've had in about 4 years so I need to re-learn how to ride. After I get comfortable on it I'll prolly do some XC races or Enduros. I don't think I'm gonna do any motoX on it, just too hard on your bike.

dude im pretty sure ur trx is a 4wheeler. am i right? and unless ur racing or goin huge ur shockwears (which im thinkin are like seal savers) u shouldnt need em. i had stock raphics til i started racing

 
Yes I bought the jet black one, the shock wears keep dust and grit out of your shocks. It's just a nylon cover that goes over them. Its a cheap investment for 20$ to keep your shocks clean.

^dude ive been ridin since i was 10 and ive raced for the last 2 years and ive hed no problems with "dirt and grit" in my suspension. i have 4wheelers too just for fuckin round wit and i havent had to worry bout it with those either. u hsould got a procircuit pipe unless its the wb carbon pro

 
about the hand guards, if youre riding trails your hands are gonna get beat to shit even with gloves, without guards. and i dont have a bike but my friend has a yz125

if you go faster than a snail in teh woods you need them, i also like them because when i fall i can keep my hands on teh controls and keep it running unstead of having my break lever adn clutch snap my fingers off. and trust me i know, when i am going 4th gear through trees that are literally 4 inches from either side of my cut down handle bars, i would NOT want to wack a tree. if your riding woods, get hand gaurds, take it from a harescramble rider.

ya rained out races suck, especially at millville, sand and water= not fun shit. some pretty sketchy stuff. or how about when they water tracks so much its like a ice rink, thats my favorite.......gotta love it
