Dirtbikes

my yzfs a four stroke. its not whether its a four or two stroke its whats its set up for. my suspensions set up really stiff and i have aftermarket springs, oil and seals so shit like that doesnt happen

 
yeah, well a stock bike doesnt have that shit. i am gonna set the suspension up stiffer though. the suspention on my bike is REALLY low. im about 130 lbs, and the rear fender is about 3 inches from the tire.

you konw you can change the compression and rebond settings. I only changed it out cuz i wanted it even stiffer so i hardly ever bottom. Hey does someone wanna buy my old bike? its a 2001 kx 100

 
nice im glad too see that there are other dirt bikers on here., my setup has consisted of a 96 kx 60, 98 cr 80, 2001 kx 100, 2001 rm 125, 2003 yz250f, 2005 yz 125, 2005 yz250f and a 2005 crf 450. ya i no ive had a lot of bikes but ive been racing since i was about 8.

 
ya ive been racing since i was about 8, i only have my yzf250 and my crf 450 now. i sold my yz 125 and bought my 250f, but now thats for sale, so i can buy another 450 haha i no im a bike whore. the 250 class is a lil better for a rider my size tho( 6'3 190 lbs)

 
is there any way for me to start racing? i was only recently introduced to dirtbike riding but i'm not bad and i think it would be fun to race... see i'm 15 though, and most guys have been riding since they were 3-5... i havent found any beginner class races for more than like 8 year old 80cc haha

 
every race series has a 125 beginer class and a 250 beg. but if you have an 80 i dunno some places have an 80 beg. class but not all. if not you would just have to race in an 80 age class. but you should def. check it out racing is so much fun and the ppl at the tracks are awesome its like a big happy family

 
dude dont worry i dont ride 80 haah i'm just saying thats all i saw. i'm gonna step up to a new bike (i started last summer with a 125 4 that is pussy as hell now) and i'm thinking about a 250, i ride my dads and it's nice, only problem is its a bitch getting on/off, i'm like 5'7

 
no see my 125 was a 4 stroke, you want pussy, try that thing for a ride, it sucks ass... damn i hate it now... what do you suggest moving up to? a 250 2 stroke? what

 
i rode my freinds once and fell down a hill because i got scared and bent his shifter. Then i never rode one agian.

i actually would suggest a 250f, now i can understand what your talking about pussy haha. but a 250f would be a perfect bike. a 250 2 smoke would be a little too much i think.

thanks man... any that you know of that arent like 38 inch seats? its a pain in the ass getting on and off, seriously i have alot of trouble with that

 
thats cool you ride man but a 220 will for sure get boring quick hope you got a good trade in situation at your nearest dealer, but nice work anywho on the new whip

1080 chubs, start off by ridin at tracks a lot so you get comfortable with whoops and rythm sections, then start off in c class or beginner and then work your way up. id recommend startin off in the 125 class on like a 250f

ok guys, i got it, and its rather sick. ive been riding for like 2 hours (dark now) and i have to say its quite easy. it doesnt accelerate as fast as my friends RM 125, but when you get it going it will keep up with it.

screw that, keep the motor in the shuttle truck, and slap some pedals on um and blast down a mountain at 40+ mph. now thats fun. haha, i dont even go near motorcycles. if i got addicted to them, id be too in debt. my bike already has around 5000 into it, and if you add the realm of a motor into that equation, id be the most broke mother fucker on earth.

yeah, ive been riding it, but it wont get dirty in the yard. this sunday i am going to the trails in the morning, camping out sunday night, riding again on monday then coming home monday night.

whoa, where do you live? and thats awsome you got a xr200, thats a pretty good first bike, it should get you ready for a bigger 2 stroke later on.

whoa whoa whoa, haha i just read the second page of posts since i was like, away most of the time while this thread was going on, but if 1080 chubs wants to race, we cant just start him in mx, we gotta make sure he doesnt wanna do harescrambles or stuff. if your 15 you can still ride the youth for harescrambles, once you turn 16 then you have to get a bigger bike and race the adults in those classes. so i think it would be better to start off doing hs with kids his age than like schoolboy mx shit with not a lot of experience.

like with harescrambles, the kid can try out both mx and woods riding to see what he likes. some hs tracks are next to motorcross tracks so they will go through the woods and then connect to tracks like this:

1080, bottom line is, do whatever is more fun for you, cas thats basically what its about when your young, i cant make any money when i am 14 haha.

i got it into 6th today around my neighborhood. it tops at about 60-70.

wow that just cut off like everything i wrote didnt it, anyway i mainly race the ECEA harescramble series but any weekend that the ECEA series hasnt already taken over i will do other stuff like GNCC's, D-6 races, PA-state series stuff.

you just got that 200 mang, you gotta ride the wheels off that thing, like if you just got into racing, your not gonna hop on a bike and win. it takes a looot of expirience, and if you can get people who race to ride with you, awsome, cas thats how you pick up new stuff. you watch thier lines and the way they ride and adapt it into your own style, its a long ride to the top, but its still fun.

yeah thats a good idea, but the 200 is good to get your feet wet. but thats about it, my brother had an xr200, and then he got older and noticed that the suspension was way to soft, even when he stiffened it up. but its cool, have fun with it while you can, and then go for a faster 2 or 4 stroke.

yeah, the suspension is way too soft. my dad rubs the back fender on the tire today. it sucks cuz you cant adjust the rear suspension, only the pre load

it wont start today. i think somethings wrong with the spark plug. like, its not even trying to turn over. ill have my dad pick me up a spark plug and see if thats what it is.

yeah i guess just put in a new plug, did you like, crash it or mess anything up? or is it just like, not starting.
