DIN..?

so my old skiis i had a pair of salomon 850 bindings on (which i bought at a garage sale for 20 bucks) the DIN went up to 10 but i never put them past 8. I never had any problem with them coming off.. in fact.. the only time i remember them coming off is when i under rotated some front flips. My new skiis, however have salomon STH 12 bindings on them and.. i started DIN out at 8.. they fell off for no reason. I cranked DIN to 9.. still fell off. 10: falling off but not as frequently.. im putting them up to 11 or 12 this weekend hopefully that will do the trick. But why is there such a big difference between my new and old bindings? My new skiis are also 10 cm longer which makes a slightly longer lever arm the crank on the bindings but still... anyone else have DIN problems? i am also skeptic that it is because i have Salomon bindings..

this sound more like a forward pressure issue, you must bring them to a shop to see, there are a number of variables that it could be

Yes, i have had the same problem. They fell of too often for no reason at all, and it did not fall of when it sould. this ended in a injury. after buying STH 16 i never even had these problems. I belive STH 12 is just made for Lighter skiers.

forward pressure is the issue. get them adjusted agian at a shop.

if you dont you very well may twist your leg around in some gnarly direction.

Take

Them

To

A

Shop.

Bindings are not something to just fuck around with. Setting them wrong can cause a season ending injury in a second.

actually, on second thought, crank them all the way to 12 and then try and twist youre boot out of the binding violently. If you cant, then you know that fwd pressure is to blame, if you can, then you need a burlier binding. me thinks a PX18

i have sth 12's too, and mine are at 9. and they release at the stupidest times, like just 270'ing off a rail ill land then fall casue they pop off, and like in the air i pull my skis off doing a grab. but i always doing like nose butter and tail butter and like lots of presses and they never release, me so confused.

i had s912 ti's for a season they were terrifying. i sold them to some poor sap whose probly dead now

sell those bindings and get some look/rossignol bindings like the px12s or fks. i got a pair of look px12s and they are amazing, so much better than my solomon z10 bindings. they have only released when necessary and they are so sturdy.
so....1. sell those salomons2. buy look/rossignol bindings3. ???????????4. profit

just go to a shop and they will fix it i have sth12s set at 6! and i have yet to have them pop off. that being said i never ski in the park but i do push them relatively hard else were (im like 5 10' and 170 pounds as well)

well you will probably fall out of your bindings nonstop..unless they start at a higher din. but other than that no i dont believe it is bad

Everytime I read these questions that are forward pressure related I hear myeself sing 'forward pressure' on the beat/song of under pressure by queen.. I would love to make a song about it and put it on youtube so everytime someone that has 0 knowlegde about bindings and the problem is the forward pressure anyone could just embed that song from youtube.. Problem is I am not quite the musician and my voice is really low..
