hey i just got some new rossinol bindings and was wondering what everyone is setting their din rating at because i have no idea

somtimes you just got to take off your pants and slide on the ice

^yes those are both very good numbers to set them at. works perfect. it makes your skis feel more in contact with your boot. making turns much sharper and faster

9.. 18 and al that is good but not so good when the ski wont come off and breaks your legs thats the only sketchy part

ya it is kind of sketchy but hey, 18 must be right

I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal... People know me, I own many leather bound books...

if you listen to these kids, your knees will not make it through the first day.

take em to a shop and they will set it up for you.

between 8 and 10....for regular skiing i try to keep them at 8ish because i hurt my knee last year from having them too high. when it comes comp time i crank it to 10 so i wont come out unless its a bad fall

you cant jsut ask any one what your din shuold be at... everyone is a different hight/ weight/ ski abbilty, you have to tthink for your self about it. take them to a shop if you wnat to be safe.

So long fried rice, hello fried chicken!

your doing a very dumb thing maxing out your din settings....binders are deisgned to be used a the middle of the din range...if you have a binding with a max din of 10 and your pegging it at 10...you are not only gonna pre-release more often due to lack of rebound but also risk serious knee injuries (PCL) due to to much foward pressure....

din's dont make the man...your skiing does.

Once again, ONLY idiots max out their dins, if your that hard core that you need to have a 15 din setting you should have bindings that go to 18-21...race stock! which means HEAVY metal

exactly, and mine are around 8 or 9

what's up now bitch

Seriously let a shop set you up. If you prerelease then bump it up one. You'll regret overcranking when you're lying in the snow first day of the year with a ruined knee.

how are you meant to have it when your jibbing? lower, so you dont pop your knee, or higher so it doesnt release if you land a bit awkward?

^I put mine a tiny bit lower so if i get some odd angles on a rail bail the come off. but high enough that they stay on when u hit rails.

depends on your height and weight and your skill and your riding style.

i am 6'2", 70 kg and do mostly park-riding and all-mountain. i sometimes carve around with 80 km/h and reach easily 110 km/h on the groomers.

my din setting is 9 or 10, never had problems.

i just screwed my boots directly to my ski

with gas prices so expensive and mexicans so cheap i think i am going to start riding a mexican to work!

i go with like 10 or 11 and im maybe 170 pounds

i'm sure 99% of this site knows that jon gets laid more than 99% of this site. --strode420

if you max out your din to be more hardcore you will only be able to ski for about three month and your acls will snap like a 50 year old rubber band.

well I'm scared my boots will pop out and get me killed hoping into a gnarly chute so I'd rather take the risk on my knees. I usually keep them around 12. But make sure you don't set your dins too close to the low or high end of the range (within 1 point of max or min) because I've been told by a lot of people that they don't work properly so close to the limit.

If you have any doubts about the correct setting tell me your boot size, height, weight and what kind of skiing you do and I'll give you a rough estimate, I was a tech for a few years so I can prolly guess closeish

We pay our debt sometimes.

i use to have my 810ti's at 10 with all the foreward pressure all the way up dangerously and still popped out

now i have fks race bindings and have them set at 9 and tore my miniscus and dislocated my shoulder on the first hit at blackcombs pipe doing a allyoop 5 decking out and my skis didnt come out I LOVE EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^good point, dont get to close, on a 10 max binding, dont get over 8, because on 9 it wont work properly and you wont see it open on 10.

"for reals is everyone in here kidding?? OK first of all if you dont know what chads gap is thats kinda lame. Secondly They have been hitting chads gap for some time now. Im surprised now one has seen the cllip of candide thovex sticking a D spin over chads gap. Its kinda been around alot and been in a few articles." - TravisMC in a thread where everyone made fun of the creator who asked if chads had been hit with skis. thx alot

i find for the bindings i have and the weight i am at, 81/2 is best for me... it always happens like, im riding, i hit something, and i land hard and am like" shit i with my bindings would..." and then they pop off...its a beautiful thing

i used to ride some shitty markers and what people are saying here is correct, do not put them to the max. thats what i did and when i took a hard fall, instead of my skis releasing they came off because the shitty bindings were destroyed.

and more, much more than this, I did it my way
