DIN settings

I'm going to be buying new bindings, so I'd like to know how much DIN I will be needing. I'm 5'9' and I think I will weigh between 140 and 150 lbs for next season. Right now I'm just doing intermediate level skiing and small jumps in the park so my DIN is 6 and has never been releasing except in falls. How much can I expect to increase it by once I start doing advanced stuff?

One other question. Is it bad to have the bindings set to the highest DIN setting? Would it be better to have a binding that allows for a higher DIN even though you wouldn't use the highest setting?

It doesn't matter. a din of 6 is a din or 6. If you're gonna get bindings then just buy anything. all good bindings go to 12-15 which is above what you need.

Don't buy salomon bindings, I suggest Rossignol or look bindings...I have my din at 5 with my Rossi scratch bindings and I'm 5'9' 130, and my bindings are great.

crank it all the way up...you want your leg to fall off before your ski does

i have my look p12's at 10, i wouldn't recomend any higher cuz it puts too much stress on the springs thats unneeded unless you have racers bindings that is.

Head injuries suck!

crank em down brotha, nothin sucks more than coming out prematurely landing switch. i keep mine at around 14

Too tight and you could hurt yourself. I played around with mine, tight enough so they shouldnt come off unless Ill hurt myself or break my skis, although theyve been bitchy lately and releasing a little too much when I land my misties just a bit off axis.

yo, salomon bindings are the best. buy a pair that goes up to 12, but dont crank it all the way up, that puts tons of stress on the spring and wears out the binding. if your gonna keep them super tight, buy some bindings that go up to 14 or 18, but keep them at like 12 or so. if your just gonna have them at 6, you can find some cheap bindings on sale now for under 150 im sure. keep your eyes out, but i would only get hem if the din is goes to at least ten

try the tyrolia DS-9 bindings. goes up to 15 and i'¤Ñ 5'8, 140 pounds and put my setting to 8. the DIN has to be set just a little bitty higher than normal groomed skiing because of the vibration from landing hucks.

just my 2 cents.

Fear is the mind killer!

I have FDX 100s rossignol and they're on din 6. and I'm 5'7. they work perfectly with me. my boots pop out whenever I fuck up on my landings and they dont pop out when I dont want them too. so its all really. good I'd recomend Rosignol bindings with a din of 6 for you

hahahaha remember this Jordan?? 'if anybody who lives in the west would like to adopt me please contact me asap' you are simply the coolest!

Damn Danish's are good. ehh jon? hahahaha, Je n'oublierai pas quand mon ordinateur a baisé vers le haut un jour et a fait des million et des million de poteaux dans au moins de 5 minutes!

I'm 6-2, 165lbs and my bindings go up to 12. Mine are on 10. I suggest you set yours up to 7. Its fine to crank you bindings up so get something that tops at 9 or 10 and you've got plenty more DIN to use if you wish. Anything more for you sounds like a waste of money and dangerous! Hope that helps

Get a pair of bindings that can be set between 0 and 12. Keep them set at 6 untill u get some more weight. The reason why the bindings release is because of the pressure on your leg; it relases just before your leg breaks. so it really dosen't matter how advanced you are in your tricks are as long as they relase in a fall.

Im 5' 9' and 150. I have my dims at 7.5 and they're not nearly as hard as I would like them. But I would rather loose a ski then a leg

im 140 pounds, got mine set at 10. if your trying new tricks and have a high chance of falling weird, keep them a bit lower. if you ski pow a lot, crank them up, there nothing worse than having to hike and go get your skis after you eat it

and he flew round the world on a never ending dinnerroll...

i have mine set at 11 and they still fall off on rails all the time. Buy look or rossi bindings, salomon suck! they break if you land switch alot
