Jsut thought i migh share with everyone that i came across apir of salomon bindings with a din up to 22 !! they start at 14. A friend has got them he use to be a hard-core mogual rat

yeh people ski that din all the time in big mountain comps and shit...like i asked this guy that competed in the blackcomb big mountain comp thing what his din was and he said his bindings only go up to 22 and thats what it was

The highest DIN Salomon produces is the S920's, which are 14-20 DIN. Marker makes some race bindings that go up to 28 or 30, I can't remember. You can always throw a washer or a quarter in the spring though, and boost it up another few DIN. Often in big mountain comps, or even in big mountain-type skiing, its safer to ragdoll down something with your gear on rather than leave it strewn across a slope.

marker has a pair that go to like 40, but cause their marker, im sure they still pre-release at 40, haha...those bindings weigh a ton though, especially the Look Comp bindings, i had a pair and they were like two steel bricks

salomons are the biggest peice of shits on the face of the earth. I had them when I weighed like 90 pounds and I had my dins on 12. THEY SUCK!!!!!!

My bindings go up to 8. I kept them at 5 or so, because they wouldn't release anyways, so It didn't matter. Seth Morrison skied at snowbird at the beginning of the season in 96 and had the Din at 14, maybe more. He crashed and his season was over.

 
The plastic of boot soles begins to warp at DINs higher than 15. 24 is ridiculous.

Marker tops out at a Comp 3000, (30) din. But they only produce about 5 of those bindings a year, for there top downhill racers only. anything above 20 and your going to rip the binding out of the ski before it releases anyway. Those bindings are heavy as fuck to, all metal construction cuz plastic parts wont hold up. As baker said, you can modify bindings, I just would not reccomend doing it with any plastic binding.

yes, the higher din is definitely necessary, I was bombing down some moguls with a din of 12 and my skis popped off and I ate shit real bad.

my brother bought a pair of those and he had to sign this big waiver saying that the place mounting them wouldnt be responsible for ANY SORT OF INJURY related to skiing while using these bindings

Well if your gunna buy a pair of bindings that go to 24 you are probly a downhiller or moguls or sumthin so to sue becuz u fucked up and crashed is retarted you should know goin into its gunna take a shitload to get those of ur feet!

I'll second 'knee surgery sucks'.

You could always just get an all metal binding and replace the springs with stacks of dimes. I can guarantee your skis won't come off. Your leg might, but hey who cares, right?

And SkiMack is right, bootsole plastic deforms past DIN 15-16. Of course, any racer who skis racestock bindings also gets race stock boots, right?

Haha, wow 30 DIN bindings.. imagine seeing a 5 year old with those things, (s)he would need someone to sit on the backs to get his boots out. But ya, I doubt they would sell them to a 5 year old.

they are salomon s916's not s920's, but yeah, theres really no need for that unless you are skiing big mountain or racing

 
i had my pair set at 12, and they were 8-18...i mean i definately didnt NEED the comp bindings, but the best part is their bombproof, definately last for years

samcaylor, actually basin ski shop in killington vermont had S916's this year when i was there. its a different toe peice than the standard salomon spheric toe peice

a buddy of mine that is on the canadian nathional ski team hooked me up now i ski on 14-24 i keep them about 16 but then i again i am 6'6' 220 pounds and ski like a real man

Din fo 20 is not that bad, some of the top world cup racers have special made bindings they have a setting that will not release, the binding screws will rip outta the ski before your boot pops off. I'd want this when cruising on ice at 120mph and a fall would fuk you up!
