Dimensions of a Hitching Post?

As the title says, I am looking for the dimensions of a Hitching Post, i.e. height and width. I'm planning on building one for my backyard in the winter, and I might incorporate it into my summer-setup. I'll also post this in BAJ 101.

If you are putting a horse on this they are around 4.5 feet tall and somewhere around 9 feet long or longer it all depends on how many horses you are putting on it. For your purposes you probably want to go taller to account for snowfall and how you pack it. I would guess the width would depend on your own preference. I am only speaking from ranch/horse aspects. I am too much of a wuss to jib things like that at my age....Ha. I'm 30 and old...
