i've never hurt myself with my look's from jumps and tables etc. but more than once on boxes and rails i've done the leading-foot-slide-out-butt-onto-back-ski-binding-in-the-bum motion. and i got it bad in the pipe once.

I think its so you cant accidentely unclip yourself because theyre straighter up where as salomons are lower and much easier to accidentely hit...

the heel pieces really help to teach you not to land too far back. Also, next year the heel pieces are slightly different shaped, much lighter, and WILL pivot. Only the system skis and race system skis wont pivot. Even if they didnt change, i would take them over any other bindings. They have the simplest design, least moving parts, most durable design, most boot travel before release, and never pre-release.
