I've had some 3 people say they were going to buy this, so I'd cancel any deals I had with other people for them, and then they'd change their mind.

So, the camera is still for sale, if anyone's interested in buying it, please message me.

Model: Canon EOS D30

Sensor: 3.2MP CMOS

Mount: Canon EF

Drive: 3fps for 8 JPG frames

Flash: 1/200th sync, FEC

Basically everything you'd need to take photos of any type. I'm looking to get $550 Canadian ($400US) for this camera. I'm not sure how that price compares to other cameras, but this one is mint condition.

Comes with:

- Software

- Cables

- 128mb CF Card

- 2 x Batteries (1 low capacity, 1 never used high capacity)

- Strap

I'll throw in a little camera bag too.

For those of you who don't know much about this camera, you can check my profile as all the recent skiing photos I've posted on here were taken with it. Also check Mauii's profile as he used a D30 for his skiing photos as well.

Dude, thats pretty spendy for an old DSLR without a lens. honestly, you can get a Canon Rebel 300d kit(with lens) for about 200-250 more on ebay.

^so youd rather have a 3.2 MP over a 7MP? damn ur smart one, can you be on my team?

d-loc, do you even know what difference resolution makes to image quality? None. It only affects how large you can print an image. Typically most people dont print larger than 9x14, so 3 mp is plenty. The rebel lacks custom functions, full manual support, ai servo on/off control, aluminum sub chassis or magnesium alloy casing, and a multitude of other features which im sure you cant comprehend.

oh and doesnt bigger resolution also mean more zoom on the final picture... meaning more detail?

and i wish your link actually worked then i could se ur site... but it doesnt

oh god............ this is funny.

d-loc questioning mike on photography. HA!

Although, I'm going to tastefully disagree with you on this one too, Mike. Given the choice, I'd still take my D.rebel over a D30 anyday. The resolution being the big factor there. I don't mind working around the few limitations of the D.rebel for the ability to be able to print bigger, and with the hack I've minimized a few of these too. That's just personal preference, though, and I'm not shooting at your or Steve's level (yet ;) ).

I will admit I wish I had a metal body though, especially when I've got my new 28-70 2.8L attached. That thing's a beast!

ha im not arguing im jsut saying i like more MP cuz then i can get more detail? is this not true? cuz when i open a pic after i upload to my computer its only at 14%... then i zoom to 100% and its awesome detail.

^ Detail has nothing to do with resolution. You could stick a $40,000 imaging sensor that won't be released for 3 years behind a $5 disposable camera lens and you're not going to get a good image, at all.

Take your G6 for example, you get like 6 megapixels right? But the lens on that thing is small, and it's hard to make things work well when they're that small, you're likely going to get chromatic abberations, distortion and, in general, a dull image.

If you were to get a camera such as a D30, though, you'd have a large CMOS sensor behind the Canon EF lens of your choice. Pair it up behind a low-priced yet sharp lens such as the 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 II USM or a 50mm f1.8 II (even sharper) and I've been able to blow my 3mp images up to 11mp while still maintaing detail. I bet if I were to blow up one of my D30 images to 6mp (which I do often), the quality will be better than a photo from your G6.

Also, comparing to the whole digital rebel thing, the digital rebel is good for beginners or people like bangor who are very experienced and have learned to work around it's shortcomings, but if you really want to control every aspect of your image, you'll get a D30 / D60 / 10D / 20D / 1D / 1D MkII / 1Ds / 1Ds MkII.
