Digital Cameras.

Go for Canon or Nikon, the optical quality of the lenses is much better.

I recently bought a Nikon 4300, and so far, it has by far exceeded my expectations. It makes awesome pics...

As someone highly educated in this.

1) Fuji - Good quality pics, bad quality vids, good features, good prices.

2) Sony - Excellent Pics, Decent Video, awful features, awful prices.

Go for the Fuji if you want to spend less and have some manual control, go for the Sony if you only care about image quality.

But... Canon is #1 and I'd take a Nikon or Fuji as #2.

First of all, in my opinion, the fuji line is not strong. The only decent camera they actually released is the f410. Even their S2 is stupid, they just copied the nikon f80 body, strapped in some double A batteries, and charge 250 bucks more than the D100. The fuji line doesn't compete with the canon/nikon/olympus (only higher end in olympus). If your debating between fuji and sony, although I don't really love either of the two companies. I would go for sony no question.

If your looking to get a higher end model in sony, go with the f717. Absolutly amazing camera. If you don't have the bucks for that, the olympus C-5050 or the canon g3 are probably 2 of the greatest camera's out there right now.

If your looking to get a lower end model, go for the Canon A70. Really nice camera for the dollar value.

message steve... he knows alot he gave me help on the Canon Powershot series im still debating on gettin the A70 or the A60, both sick cameras, I read so many reviews also, fuji sucks at digi, sony is just way over priced

if you want a good one, cannon is pretty much the way to go. fuji and olympis is good for the money

How much are you looking to spend? How many megapixels? I was looking for a CHEAP digi cam.. anything would be better than disposables :P.. and i found a 1.3 megapixel Fuji for 90 bucks. Sure, it's not the best. But for under 100 bucks, your not going to get the best. So, there are lots of options out there, you gotta see how much you want to spend, and what your priorities are.

Resnick - the Fuji 602 is decent too.

And topic starter - why are you limiting yourself to those brands? Go for Canon or Nikon like dude up top said and you'll get a good camera for a good price.
