i was reading all those dumb threads made by the mass amount of noobs which seem to flock to SG in the summer asking about baggy or tight. and i was thought wow. are there names for different styles of skiing in the park. there is like the pro text book style where everything is on cue, the dicking around skiers (russell), the wackos (in a really good way) and parry and such, the super G (harlaut and such). are there names for them and if not there should be a ns video guide on them. im getting to the point in skiing where i pay attention to my style more and im not sure the kinds that are out there. wow im rambling. dont send hate my way just because its summer and there is nothing better to do.

dress how you want to dress and don't worry about style for a sec. Let your body land, spin, ride-away and w/e else naturally. that is your style and you should love your style because you're doing you. Don't go out and try to copy style. Have fun on the slopes and the only person's opinion on you and your skiing and style is your own. /thread.

Style can be 2 things in my mind which can then be divided into sub-categories.

1:Style can mean the specific flavor that you add to your tricks in skiing that makes watching you do somthing more exciting than watching another guy do the same thing.

2:The type of clothing you wear. I guess you could say things such as Hesh, or Thug.

But that being said, i hate it when someone says 'OMG that rich little white kid is sooo gay cus he wears baggy shit and he thinks he's black'. Just cus someone wears baggy clothes doesnt mean they think they're a blood who grew up in the hood or just cus someone wears tight pants doesn't mean they're some 'emofag'. ITS JUST CLOTHING. WEAR WHAT YOU THINK IS PIMP.

hence the name freestyle, theres so many different styles because everyone makes their own. lots of people use a mix of other peoples styles.

i like to try and look at different styles more in the way they do in skating.

like theres the kids who are G'd up and shit and alot of them seem to be in slow motion when they skate, tonnes of flow. and then the hesher/punk kids who skate fast and insanely agressively.

and youve got your oldschool bowl guys

and your reg's who have tech tricks.

and so on.

and your complete fucking wackos. skating seems to have alot

so in sking this is where i'd put it

#1 - Harlaut / Jamal Smith

#2 - Paco / Slash

#3 - Pollard / Omar Hassan/Glifberg?

#4 - Wesson / Koston

anwyays uhhhh my point was that style isnt ALWAYS about what tricks you have and what you wear, but als your mindset and the WAY you ride.

these threads are starting to become so boring. Style is style, if you want to be thug then do it, if you want to wear tight pants do it. Who the fuck really cares. Wear what you want. There are other things to talk about then fucken clothing. There has to be over 50 threads on this.

if anyone read my original post i dont believe i said anything about the stupid baggy vs. skinny shit. i was just asking about the styles of doing tricks

The reason T Wall looks so smooth is because he's a very good skier who has a very smooth style. Not because he wears baggy clothes!Clothes have nothing to do with how smooth or how good you look skiing. Its just a style!

Number 1 style tip: NEVER unzip the jacket! I hate seeing people do that.

Number 2: When wearing park gloves let your jacket drape over them.

Number 3: Bandanas are your friend.

And Finally let your skiing do the rest. Those are the only things that i see that drive me to saying look at that poser without looking at his skiing.

"Being gypsy isn't cool, it's just being different. Okay. i didn't have any feathers so i had to put on a piece of my mother earth."

bahahaha or even better

"we are just out here to not have fun."

Style is an individual thing. I think so long as you don't try be or act like something your not and you do what YOU want to do you can't go wrong.

It makes me feel a little ashamed of people when i see them trying too hard to be someone else.

I dress the way i do cos i feel comfortable looking this way, it is how i dress from day to day and it has been for a long time and i ski the way i ski cos it is what i enjoy to do and i take inspriation from what i enjoy to watch skiingwise and from the other areas of my life and the people in them that i look up to, ie, music, skating, culture....

if everyone did this we would all be unique and all have our own style and if everyone understood this then there would be less bitching i feel.

that's true too, so If you're a really good skiier then it's not gonna matter what you wear really. it's all about comfort for me really
