Different heel/toe pieces?

why dont people use different heel and toe pieces on skis? like what prevents people from using a mojo 15 heelpiece with a px12 toe? aside from them bot performing amazingly with one another, why dont people do this?

example: if i find a pair of old ass skis with functioning p12 toes, could i throw on some mojo 15 heels? why or why not?

i dunno about that because some bindings ride higher than others i think, so then your foot would be in your skis unevenly. mixing brands might not be the best idea.

but my friend is using p18 toe pieces with fks 155 heels and they're working fine.

height is a big factor, different bindings lift your feet off the ski, also a shop probably won't mount frankenbindings because i doubt they're legalyou can swap around within companies with similar design, i.e. px15 toepiece with fks 155 but i wouldn't pair a jester toe with an sth 16 heel

i mean i really wouldn't recommend it, but do what you wantbindings all release in certain ways and sometimes the toe release is relative to the heel release or vice versa so when you fuck around with that it could be dangerous, idk just use normal bindings, people only use px toes on fks etc because they're literally the same toes

Yeah dude no_steeze is right, you shouldn't frankenstein bindings unless they're actually compatible and the same type of binding.. like you could use a px toe with a pivot heel or fks heel. but you wouldn't want to mix different companies. different release patterns and all that

ok, i wasnt planning on doing it, just wondering why people dont do it. a lot of times when people have trouble with bindings, its just one part (px heels are heavy, solly toes break), so i was wondering why people dont just take the best of both worlds.
