Different FKS?

Alright, so i purchased some old fkj's on B/S/T. When i got them i noticed one of the heel pieces are different than the other, like one heel piece has a bigger plastic piece holding the arms- the other has a normal heel piece. I'm making a thread because i was wondering if it affects the performance of them? here is a picture, As you can see; the odd heel piece is on your left:

I can't see where it is bigger, could you circle the area in paint? I don't think it would make a huge difference, but I'm no binding expert, just my personal opinion.

I'd be more worried with the missing AFD in the toe piece than the plastic covering in the heel piece.

Most likely, the original owner got a replacement baseplate, which is more modern, therefore it doesn't have the hinge covers (which don't do anything). Don't worry about it.

why one would be like that is quite confusing. both my pairs have the bigger thing but idk why one would be like that and the other normal

In my experience, the older style develops play more quickly or maybe just more noticeably. There is a bend in the arm where it meets the base plate and IMO the connection is not as strong rigid. Will you notice this? Probably not. Half of mine are like this and it's fine.

alright, this my my first fks style heel piece so i was un sure if it was fine, thanks +K to the help

clearly the best solution is to stomp the fuck out of everything, there for never having a need for an AFD
