Different colour on3ps

So last winter I met this guy on the slopes and noticed we both had 16/17 kartel 98s, but we noticed that although they had the same graphic, his had a much more noticeable pink hue to them, whereas mine had the standard sorta brownish colouration. Anyone know anything about this?

I know exactly what your talking about. Some kartels are more neutral and others have a pink tinge. Considering the quality control that ON3P does, its pretty crazy actually, this is definitely not some defect or other issue. I know they outsource their graphic printing from an outside company, maybe they switched companies, different material, who knows. I would be intrigued to hear the real reasoning behind this.

Yeah I figure it’s just a slight difference from a production change or something

Manufacturing is a constant feedback loop for products that are sometimes made 10 months apart. So we're constantly making minor adjustments for things like ambient temperature and so on to achieve consistency.

We do outsource our topsheet printing (top sublimation + base screening are the only two processes we don't do in house) and will make periodic changes to color if we see any color shift or want a minor changes to the look. It's not frequent, but does happen. I don't remember this model in particular, but I suspect after an early season run we wanted to shift the color a bit and made adjustments before the next run.
