I'm sure people will be up in arms and many a law suit filed under the Americans with Disablities Act. It is basically censorship for the deaf. I highly doubt it will happen as they describe. If it does happen, I'm sure it will be back when Bush is voted out.

yeah, but it is really close, i think all bush has to do is pass it, and usually it is vetoed at this stage, with the US being a democracy...(even though this really is a communist-like act for us to to do)

west was saying that Bush(republican) will probably not be in office again next term and a democrat prez(kerry or edwards are likely) will probably take over, as long as we dont go to a nuclear war or anything, but that wont happen.

 
i don't know if this is really that important...i mean, not to sound insensitive, but supervore said that cc would only be taken from some schows, not all of them, and it will save money. besides, posts against bush have been done to death, please end it.

but if you read the article, they are clearly choosing shows that seem irrational. I mean Law and Order has been a top rated show for years, and its not worhty CC now? and some shows that older people have watched for years, now they won't be cc'ed?

Its clearly a stupid decision.

it is still not censorship, they just are looking for a place to cut ends and find more money, the are not trying to not let deaf people hear pirate brodcasts of anti-hearing inclined organization, they are just getting money and not trying to infringe on their rights

yeah, any1 know why we would be trying to cut back on spending? hmm, o yeah, i think its because of all these insane tax cuts, and that multibillion dollar war. Maybe we should think about what's gonna happen to the budget before we spend all this money.

Even if they are trying to cut corners, how much money do they think CC costs? All you need is one guy per show transcribing it on his computer. I know there are a lot of shows, but over one year the most they can save is maybe 5 million, and that's a VERY safe estimate (it's probably much less). Bush can raise that much in a couple of fund-raising dinners. It's bullshit.
