Did You Ski This Weekend?

This was the first time I have felt relief and fun at the same time. Snoqualmie's park set up was great, and for just a couple hours, sliding rails, re-learning my sketchy front 2s off jibs, was therapeutic and fun at the same time. I honestly forgot about COVID for a little bit - which I am grateful for.

The lift line queues were not managed well, but for a sunny Saturday at Snoqualmie, it could have been worse.

I really hope every single person here is able to shred soon, if you haven't already. Skiing honestly feels like a brotherhood.

Maybe I am being a simp, Lol

Cheers, everyone

Hiking park at key a few weeks ago was the first "normal" I felt in a long time. On top of that everyone was extra friendly and extra stoked. Tons of newcomers to the park but they were committing and trying to learn it was great!

Not simping. I skied my first day yesterday at Copper and it was awesome. Not terribly packed in the morning, soft snow, 11/10 park setup. One of the best days I've had in months. Glad you got a similar experience over at Snoqualmie

Couldn't go this weekend as all the mountains are only open to passholders and the mountain I have a pass at opens next week. Definitely jealous of all of you guys and my friends who got out. Might have to hit the summer setup to hold me over

Told my homie multiple times I wanted to go this weekend only to wake up this morning to a snap from him skiing with his GF instead. Pretty bummed.

Haven't gotten a chance to go yet because of finals but I'm getting my first day in tomorrow and hopefully I can get at least 15 days this month now that I'm on break

Yeah, thankfully I got a pass this year and was able to go this opening weekend. You'll be shredding soon!

I hiked some pvc with my friends and I’m shocked at how shitty my body felt. I got injured a few times last season but I’ve been skating all summer without a problem. I felt like absolute shit physically all day long and it made me sad. Getting old sucks.

Hiked my backyard setup for a while until my binding ripped out of my beater skis, anyone got any experience remounting bindings? Only the back part came out I might be able to just rescrew the screws in

I wanted to but unfortunately my weekend iverlaps the actual weekend and it was slammed.

I wrnt out thursday and friday afternoons though. I may take a gander today. Its already way quieter than yesterday and pretty sunny. If the lines are too busy ill just hike up to the park.

Went to my new home resort for the first time this weekend. They only have 3 rails set up and a few runs open. Thankfully they were fast blues with rollers so handdrags were drug and butters were buttered.

I just realized your name is Dill Does Durango not Dildos Durango.

France is still fucked up, we wont have open chairlifts till at least mid january. Gonne get to the mountains in about a week and start touring and doing kicker sessions to get more tricks under my belt for when the mountain will open! Will feel so goodwhen im back on the snow :)

Purgatory or did you move somewhere else?

I’ve gotten two days in so far. Super thankful for the employees working hard to make it one of the safest things I’ve really done outside of my house during covid.

Probably a dumb question, but because of COVID or winter conditions?

hopefully people who grew up in the east or midwest can relate....But idk what it is, an appreciation for snow at the very least and just being able to get some lift-serviced runs in regardless if its white-ribbon groomer skiing has been super fun in the past few weeks. idk, it may not be the snowiest year here in UT yet but even during low-tide seasons, there's still plenty of opportunities to have some fun on skis and thats what keeps it going a lot of the time, and being able to have laughs with friends on the chair again like kids. Good times. Glad its back.

This is what I fear here in Quebec, wear your calice de masque at the liftline. People arguing with the lifties asking them to pull it up to their nose is insane. We are the first resort open here (and by really far), so everyone is watching. We should instead consider ourself lucky to be out there using the lifts.

About the skiing : good times, spring vibes and a few rails. All we can ask for.

Like a dumbass i fractured my humerus a week before opening weekend so now i cant ski until at least february. It hurts most because i just bought my first pair of ON3P's and i was hyped af

First day at the great divide. Super short run with a small park setup. Definitely got my fix

I had to work over Thanksgiving, so i ended up making this a long weekend with my comp time. Went to Shredows Thursday, Saturday, and im half tempted to go monday. It was awesome, i got a ton of runs on 2 bluebird days, much needed relief

Set up a small flat bar and tube on a hill near my house and had a little session with the boys. Been waiting for a pass to Loon because our school ski team is still trying them out.

Yep. I've been over to Wolf Creek a few times already but didn't want to spend money this weekend since I have a pass for Purg.

woohoo op! so good to be back out at Mt. Hood. hopefully more terrain will just keep on opening and everyone on here can spin some laps

I skied all week. A bunch of homies and I hiked a hill in a state forrest and built our own version of the bone zone lol. We got blasted by one of the bigger storms I can remember ever getting here in western Pa and got some pretty decent snow. Fun times were had. This season feels much better than years past but we will see how it plays out. Chair lifts are rumored to be turning in another two weeks at my local hill.

I’ll be there in 2 weeks. How is everything looking?

First day today... skiing new skis and boots. It was awesome. I forgot how much fun skiing was to be honest. Park setup was dismal so I laid some trenches on the groomers and practiced switch carving and high speed 180’s. Another thing I forgot was how tiring a full resort day can be, my legs are still sore

Local hill has some saved snow from last year. It’s about 100 feet of vertical with 8 features packed onto the left side of the run. Loved every second of it. Man I love skiing.

Its been at long time since I've already gotten in 10+ days by December. Baker has been sick this season, might have to go hit up Snoqualmie this week.

Edit: nevermind its pass holders only. Shit.

Depends on how ripped out the threads are. If they are total beater skis or it’s not that bad you might be able to get away with putting some epoxy or JB weld in the hole and re-screwing it.

Yeah bro, Covid situation. The goverment do not want to open up the mountains because of the infection numbers. They are getting much better, but apparently not good enough yet. Fingers crossed for a mid january opening day!

We had a noreaster, and since I live on the coast (about 2 miles from the ocean) I only got about an inch of crud when anywhere within 15 minutes of me got half a foot. Still managed to get a tube setup, just the landing was mostly wet grass.

Yeah, it’s passholders only probably for the next couple weeks. I bet once Alpy opens they’ll start doing reservations for the general public. The main reason I ponied up and bought a pass this year was because I didn’t wanna have to deal with the reservation crap. Passholders can show up whenever at least for now

Yeah mine I’ve been riding in bibs and a long sleeve shirt so far...

I'm about to sacrifice my old boots to the snow gods. It was like 60° and sunny this weekend.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the local hill. Park is too fun not to. I’m about to go DoorDash the lunch rush so I can buy another lift ticket tonight :D

Thursday at Mt Hood meadows was a little chundery but really sick. Park wasn't bad either. Plenty of wide boxes as per PNW snowboard style parks lol

Went to Loon on Saturday (pre-snow unfortunately) and it was so sick to finally be back.

One pro of COVID - the parking lot actually had kind of a cooler vibe than normal. Just more people around/getting ready at their cars/bumping music and even a few tailgates towards the end of the day. Deff gunna bring a little Coleman with me next time. Lift lines were naught, but I'm a lil worried about how crowded it's going to be once it's open for non-pass holders.

Conditions were surprising good for so early in the season (and like the 3 inches of rain we'd just got) but it honestly could have been a hockey rink and I still would have been pumped just to be back skiing.

We made it boys.

Park City was litty titty on Saturday.

Ya ever kinda look around like GOD EVERYONE IS SO GOOD and you just take a deep breath and say to yourself, "I am having fun and doing my best."

Haha (cries internally).

Opted Sunday to go to the spa at Snowbird cuz needed to chill out a homegirl cuz she was all hysterical from her elevator door opening up to reveal the aftermath of a shootout. Weird day, but theyve got a very nice hot tub and heated pool there. Its like $35 for a day pass.

first day skiing in over a year because I snowboard. just picked up a cheap pair from a friend and ripped around the mountain for a whopping 7 hours having the time of my effing life lol

First day was amazing. Was a little rusty at the start of the day but later I ended up learning blind surface swaps on a box which I've never done before. Felt good.

I’m low key stoked you remembered to come back to this stoke thread and give that update. Blind swaps? Heck yeah nice one
