Question not our military, its miles ahead of anyone elses.
Some food for thought:
In vietnam we lost 59,608 people. Iraq and afghanistan are roughly the same length as vietnam and we've lost around 5100 people. pretty good upgrade if you ask me.

if you restricted the gate test to ONLY other developed countries and offered people leaving citizenship in any country of their choice, i bet you'd be surprised.
 
really? you realize paul hawken is one of the most successful businessmen of the last 50 years or so, right? a champion of capitalist society who actually took the time to step back and do some good in the world

I fucking love America... I can see a doctor without having to wait 3 months. I can privatize my education and get rewarded for it. I can laugh at liberal socialist assholes who grew up with such a horrible life in America that they have to get out as soon as possible... and I can have enough sense realize that we are pretty damn luck to live in a place that gives us the right to go wherever we want. As you will find when you leave this place is that every single country in this world has problems pretty darn similar to America.

Have you ever been to France? The French are rude and arrogant... they remind me of absolute hicks that live in the deepest part of the South. Think Mississippi. Also, Paris is the filthiest city I have ever been to. If you had ever been outside of North America, then you can make statements like this. I'm assuming you haven't traveled anywhere because what you said is ludicrous. If anything, you want to go live in Germany or the Netherlands.
 
gunna get flamed but this is my thought, america is like that big bitch of a mother who always gets in everyone else's buisness and trys to help everybody else through problems, and critics everyone else's family problems while there own family is a complete definition of what they are trying to fix, but that's just coming from an observer.

untrue America has a pretty unique set of problems, and is actually quite different from virtually all other democratic countries in the world. Also explain how you can privatize your education and get rewarded for it... and do you think that, keeping the good of society in mind (I know, I know, hard for Americans to do), being able to attend private schools and being put at an advantage is a good thing?
 
Haha a real Bill McKibben huh? Privatization is what will keep our communities and society sustainable. I am personally appalled at how people can want large public/national schools and healthcare. A small private school in a local community not only brings more money to that community but provides a focus unparalleled by a large state school. A private school student not only gets specialized in a very precise subject; they make more money because of it. Privatizing post High School education is the only way to leave the blanketing effect called socialism. Not only that but the returns are much higher! The "good of our society" does not lie in our Nation running everything from schools to healthcare, but rather our local towns and communities running their own education systems and health systems. The capitalization of our communities is the only way to fix problems. Do you honestly believe that your Canadian communities are tighter because of nationalized healthcare? NO. The same with schooling; A small private college utilizes the resources around it so much more effectively and provides much better returns for its students and creates a sense of community around it. When I talk about privatizing schools I am not talking about creating corporate mass produced, packaged schooling system, but rather a small local/ county based system. In addition I want to know what is wrong with being put at an advantage? Our ENTIRE world is based on advantages... do not pretend it isn't... Communism has not worked in the past and it will not work now!As for America having unique problems; Jesus Christ, every single country has unique problems... In no way was I saying that Obesity isn't unique to the U.S. It is. Just the same way that Muslim relations are unique to France.
To the OP... Nothing angers me more than people who bring up nothing but little negative facts then proceed to say what is wrong with America and why you hate it and grip and moan about how terrible it is and then provide absolutely no solution or ideas to improve anything! but rather start saying that you are going to leave the country when you get a chance... I feel sorry for the next country you go to. You have successfully pissed me off so I say FUCK YOU OP GTFO of America

he was making a totally legitimate complaint. people cant read and insist on enlightening us all with the knowledge like "sierra leone has worse gun death rates" give me a break
 
im gonna go ahead and assume the numbers are proportional...not just straight numbers. i dont think anyone's dumb enough to tout that as a relevant statistic
