Did video games fall off?

Who's on that OG Battlefield grind? I love BF4 hardcore conquest for 64p online, remastered MW and MW2 campaigns for nostalgia

Is Bad company 2 backwards compatible? and do people still play?

Bro as much as I love that game its a fucking full time job

I finally burnt out and uninstalled. Even with a group of like 12 people it was too much,

People who play solo or in small groups on official are actually insane in the head

I never played PVP because of the maintenance required. PVE on the other hand gets boring real fast when there's no real obstacles. I dearly miss the days when I was too scared to leave the south shores and the island felt so big and mysterious.

The first couple months of ark were some of the best times I've ever had gaming

word

those initial learning stages made the greatest multiplayer survival experience, better than rust and etc IMO

Can you explain what is so appealing go you about ark?

at first it was just a genuinely great survival game

But then it very quickly became about the pvp. Me and my friends had a server that we felt that we owned. We had built there for a very long time, and we controlled what happened on the server. Nobody could progress without our consent because we had blocked off critical parts of the map. This was fine, we actually cultivated a very peaceful community.

This all changed one day when the developers enabled transferring between servers. Now you could transfer any Dino, item or player between the hundreds of official servers that existed. This resulted in a never ending assault by tribes of other servers. It was simultaneously the best and worst thing to ever happen to the game. Most servers had stagnated before the transfers opened up. But now we had to defend our server almost all the time. The Chinese would push up to our bases with like dozens and dozens of massive dinosaurs and 50 men at a time in assaults that lasted hours. And when we got bored, we could go hit other servers.

There is just something so satisfying about ark pvp in that when you destroy a tribe's base, you are pretty much dropping hundreds of hours of their work in a matter of several hours. I would have quit 4 years ago if I played PVE, it's the most complex survival game but it still runs out of content faster than you'd think.

Maybe you are already grown up and your interests and outlooks on life changed. The same thing I think happened with you with the online games. I agree with you that at the moment the most interesting game is GTA 5. I've also downloaded it from gta5mobile.club for playing on my mobile device. I'm in love with that game when the San Andreas appeared. Now I'm playing every evening before going to the bedroom when I'm not tired and I cannot sleep. I think that everyone know this game, that's why it's so popular.

Thats a bot post bro.

EA Battlefront 2 has gotten so much better since launch. They got rid of loot boxes, and have added a lot of maps, characters and game modes. Heroes vs villains also has gotten really good with good fighting mechanisms. Each character has different move sets, and stats. Zero play to win, and no paid dlc. Got it in the wal mart bargain bin for $5 and I play it more than any other game rn.

Rockstar has been doing deals where you get x amount of money for logging in. I usually log in and fuck around for a bit whenever they do those deals. Up to like $3 million.

Yeah it’s worth hoppin on just to snag those bonuses. I wish the adversary modes were more active. People really only play whatever game is double money that week.

Not sure. But red dead and MW take up my entire hard drive I think I have room for madden and that’s it I’ve deleted every other game with all the updates. Just glad my ps4 is still working.

Also services like EA Access and Gamepass are the shit. I think the only games I've bought in the last year for Xbox have been AC: Odyssey and MW.

I mean there’s no reason tony hawk had to suck once ps2 came. No I don’t want to use joysticks to grind I wanna hold triangle. Fucking morons.

PUBG caused the death of video games. It showed that you could have an unoriginal, buggy, low quality battle royale game and make tons and tons of money with little effort. Everyone else followed suit

Right? And all the fkn micro transactions that come along with games now. Every game wants you to sign up for some season pass or has an E-Store where you gotta pay to unlock the best/coolest things. What happened to unlocking it thru gameplay!? Haha

Well, when a game is free or cheaper, the company has to make money. Microtransactions will exist now and far into the future, devs make way more money than selling a game alone, plus people like you who don't want to pay can earn shit, but its not pay to play, it's just skins and shit. Fortnite and War Zone are great examples of free games with microtransactions that you do not have to pay for to play the game, you can enjoy both games without paying a cent. But, if you like the game you'll probably support it with a battle pass or something, spend $10, not too shabby TBH.

ITs because when it comes down to it, battle royale games don't have any gameplay. Its just an unstructured fps. I mean hell, fortnight involves more strategy and raw skill than pubg does. Its literally just walking around and looking for stuff, shooting at some people then dying. Rinse wash repeat every 45 minutes. At least warzone and other BR have some interesting quirks and gameplay mechanics.

Look at a game like the souls franchise. There is so much to do and so many different ways to do things and get good at the game. You can do better than others by doing something unique. Pubg is all about getting better at doing the exact same thing over and over again. Its mindless.

There's one way to do things and you are either good at it or your not. Or you just spend 300 hours doing the same thing over and over and over again.

Of all the BR offenders PUBG is the worst. I respect that they made BR what it is but holy cow. Playing it and watching it is like watching paint dry or twiddling your thumbs

While I agree with how Pubg has a repetitive game loop, most popular games share this repetition. Games of CS and mobas are extremely repetitive and yet they are the most popular games globally. People will spend 1000s of hours playing the same game over and over. The battle royale format is just a way to upscale this game loop to 100 people lobbies instead of 10 or 12.

I really like the way the guns feel and shoot in pubg vs any other shooter. But yes it can be super slow, I can't stand dropping anywhere except the largest city/hottest spot on the map each round

14144884:Poindexter. said:
Do something differently for once in a moba and everyone immediately rages. There's a dude in our league group where I won't play if he's playing because of the hard on he has for "the meta"

There's a reason people care about the meta and its because it wins games. Unless you are a professional with perfect fluency in every facet of a moba you can't really make your own strategies, ignore the meta, and expect to win. Obviously this only applies if you care about winning, which most moba players do. The toxicity stems from the fact that mobas are team games that require synchronicity from strangers in order to win.

Anyone who cares about the game has a hard on for the meta. It's just like anyone who cares about fashion cares about current trends in fashion.

anyone else been grinding MW in quarantine? I'm only 3 launchers away from Damascus and I'm hyped for the grind to be over

The coop mode was a huge addition. Such a fun mode, and you get mad progress on guns

Took a break from gaming and came back to supremacy and a bunch of new maps. Felucia is probably my favorite map but supremacy on Hoth and Deathstar 2 is sick

14144971:Poindexter. said:
I get that.

But i don't really give a shit about metas when I play three games a week with the same four other dudes. He can chill out and or get bent over a game

fair enough bro some people just wanna play for fun

Id reccomend dota its not as snowball-y and its less structured so you can fuck around more

Yeah I hear ya, it’s not the end of the world to support the company. Just miss the good old days when you’d unlock the cool skins and dope items. but games have changed and there really isn’t a whole lot of objective to thes new fps.

smash bros ultimate for Nintendo is a good game though. the only thing you can possibly buy separately are dlc fighters and they aint even necessary

FUCK

16 fucking hours to download the MW update on my old as PS4.

I've been back from Florida for 5 days I should have known being gone 25 and even if I didn't want to play get the fucking download going.

Fuck fuck fuck.

I have to delete a sports game every time this shit updates. I don't even like Warzone its too campy and I don't want sound/headset.

You need better internet and if you don't like the game then why are you so upset and why do you still play it?

Its the only game I play rn.

Warzone is why its so big and that campy shit sucks so does the huge map ground war.

My upstairs tenants I let use the internet and they pack fucking 4/5 people into a small 1BR thats why my internet sucks 6 millennials all online (2 floors they use the attic.)

Its fine for browsing and streaming. I think the old ass PS4 has something to do with it.

The problem is Red Dead 2. Its too slow but I want to at some point play a little more. So I can't delete that.

Just sucks I only have Madden 14 for sports downloaded and no room for anything else I like being able to occasionally play 14/15 any sports game for an hour every month or two.

The age of your ps4 has nothing to do with how fast your internet downloads a video game.

You again said the game sucks but its the only game you play, sounds like thats your issue here.

Nice. Do you prefer it to ea skate? Also why is it difficult?

I played skate since day 1, so I've always loved skate. SkaterXL is different because you have full independent control of each leg/foot vs skate where one stick controls both feet. Skate looks great IMO but they have preset animations so its different in that sense, I need to put some more time into SXL and I think ill start to get the hang of it.

player versus enviroment. This is the opposite of pvp which means player versus player. Examples of Pve games are left 4 dead, Skyrim, borderlands (I think)... any game where your main opponent is the game itself and not other players I guess.
