Did my local shop 'eff up?

Yes but if you plan on grinding your car on rails (yes a bad example) then the cosmetics of the car are really pointless. In the case of the OP, it is purely cosmetic damage, which you can't even tell unless your looking at the base of the ski... Sure the shop screwed up, but it seems the OP feels as if he should overcompensated than what the true cost of the damage was to the ski.

not being a wise-ass either im serious, in rereading this i could see if someone takes that the wrong way, what are they there for, like i said before i know on other k2 skis they do have holes for skins, is there even a function of those rivets?

If cosmetics didn't matter then you wouldn't have pictures in your profile trying to look steezy.

You will be fine. Shop's do however seem to be hiring more and more dumb fucks that can't figure out how to do shit though. Find a better shop from here out to work on your skis. Let the original shop know you're pissed and don't even go back for the free tune they offer you. Fuck em.

Are you fucking kidding me, did you seriously misinterpret what I said that badly? I never said cosmetics didn't matter, I simply said they are not as important as the functionality of the ski itself. The OP thinks minor cosmetic damage, which in this case is pretty much the equivalent to a pretty big top sheet chip, is grounds for major compensation from the shop. When clearly the damage done isn't going to affect his riding at all, and can only be noticed when the ski is looked at from the bottom. Therefore, the damage done by the shop is pretty negligible and he maybe deserves a free tune up and an apology from the shop at best.

You bringing up pictures in my profile from like 3 years ago is cute though, to bad they did nothing to help you prove your point.

To answer your question: yes, your shop fucked up, and they fucked up bad.

But don't worry too much about it. 1. You can get new rivets and 2. your shop will probably buy them for you. I know that doesn't make up for the fact that it was caused by pure negligence, but if it's truly a good shop, they want your business and to make you happy. Just walk in calmly and ask to speak to the manager or owner. Don't get mad (or at least pretend not to) and that will make everything a million times easier. I work in a ski shop and trust me, when a customer is being cooperative, I tend to drop everything to try to make that guy (or gal's) day a little better. If a customer is being a complete dick and bitching and moaning, you could theoretically annoy the management and thus ruin your good relationship.

So pretty much, if the shop is worth it's salt, then they will be more than happy to help you out if you are pleasant and understanding (regardless of how mad you actually are)

Ah, rivets are mostly for show, maybe let em know what they did get a free tune out of it or something but I wouldn't be worried about it. There really only there if delam starts to happen it shouldn't go further then the rivets. Don't sweat it if you lose 1 or 2, you'll just have a hole there might want to epoxy it or something though

skis so shitty they need rivets to keep from delaming ????

wow what will made in china2 come up with next???

You aint gonna get much kid your skis are fine and you can jump up and down and start retard threads but I doubt you will get much aside from there is the door, don't let it hit ya on your way out.

Oh and you don't need shitty holes and plugs in your skis to make a sled or use them as anchors on rapell

Agreed. Made in china2? Did you come up with that on your own, or did mom help? K2 makes sick skis man.

They've had tip and tail rivets since long before they moved production to China. But I'm sure you already knew that.
