Did i just score a sweet deal?

amd 64 is nice so you can upgrade to vista later. im a fan of 2gb of ram, even on a laptop. but other tahn that, good choic. gateways are graet. ive had 2 of them, for a total of aboit 10 years. no problems other than the occasional virius, but thats not the comps problem.
 
yeah the specs are great for the price.

hey rowen my bro has 2 refurb comps and his roommate works in the computer industry and told him that refurb is actually better than new because they check everything to find the problem, so they make ure everything is perfect. and i dont have enough money for a mac, and theyre arent even that cool.
 
its an ok deal. but refurbished merchandise can be quite sketchy at times. i bought a refurbished laptop, and screws and some hardware were missing, also the laptop died in 2 weeks and the company who sold it to me were ignoring my phone calls and hanging up on me. soi hope you have better luck than i did
 
yeah, truthfully for the price that is a good deal. although im afraid of refurbished comps they arent bad. i just love macs so i like to tell people that a lot.
 
the thing w/ a rerubished comp is where you buy it from, if its a legit place, have no worries as most places stand by what they sell you.
 
well tiger direct is like the most legit online store for computers, like newegg, i emailed them a question about the laptop i bought and they returned a personal email within like 6 hours
 
yeah good deal on the comp (if you look around on ebay and check the seller you could've probably got a better deal though) - but buying it there is safer

but if you have the money macs are better

 
Hell yeah, awesome deal. I hate my Gateway, but that's just because I'm impatient and want more memory for my music.
 
cuz theyre good for editing, but honestly i had a macbook all this year and they arent that great.
 
good price and everything, only potential problem would be customer service and waranteeing if shit breaks, but hopefully you were aware that you are on your own with somethin you got online. When I got my laptop for school I got the super expensive warantee with them and it paid off cuz I ended up cuz it broke and with the warantee I could just give it to geek squad and they fixed it for me for free, but then again the insurance alone cost almost as much as that whole laptop, so if yours goes a while without any serious problesm you'll have gotten a steal. best of luck and take good care of it.
 
^thanks, i knew i was on my own cuz of internet but it was a sick deal and my bro said i should pull the trig hes the computer geek in the house. plus it has xp, all the ones at my local fry's had vista, so fuck that

yeah tigerdirect is a great site. i agree that you got a good price on that. refurbished items are typically as good as new.

I have more of an issue with it being a Gateway than anything. I've had two of them crap out on me, but they might have improved their quality recently. Good deal tho for what you're getting.
 
thanks, kevin sitn countering me cuz hes getting ice from his freezer. anyways i gess if u had 2 go to hell on you then you wouldnt trust the brand. my dads desktop was a refurb gateway and no problems at all, hes had it 3 years
 
i've had my gateway desktop almost 6 and half years... it's not the beast it used to be. However it still works and i can still run big applications simultaneously. Looks like you've got a nice deal.
