Did I get lucky?

so, I did a load of wash tonight, and when I put it in the dryer, it was louder than usual. I opened the dryer up and felt around - didn't find anything odd. I had a new pair of jeans in, so I figured maybe the button was larger than usual or something (stupid theory, but whatever).

When the load was done and I pulled all my clothes out, I found one of my lighters at the bottom of the dryer. Now dryers get pretty hot on the inside, and everything is spinning around, so...do you think there was any chance of the lighter blowing up?

If you've ever gone through a pyro phase, you've probably blown up a lighter (I know I have), and so you'd know it's not a humongous explosion. But I still don't think a lighter blowing up in a drying machine could be a very good situation. Eh?

That would have been a cool story though

"So what have you been up to latly?"

"Oh not much you know, just blowing up my dryer"

i don't think it is possible. but i had that happen to me about a month ago and i think the clothes would only start on fire or if the light broke and all the butane exploded but i don't see that happening.

i've blown up my washing machine before. i had so many clothes that some got stuck inside the belts and it all went hay wire and started smoking and smelled like fire. it was like midnight. my parents were pissed. im no longer allowed to do late night laundry that i need the next morning. oops, but there was no lighter invovled

ya dude you were inches away from a catastrophic chain reaction that could have destroyed your house, or worse.

Be sure to check for lighters before you put your clothes in the dryer.

i had a shotgun shell in my pocket one time but i caught it early idk if it would of done anything but im glad i didnt have to find out
