Did anyone on here go to Boyce Park this past year?

Never heard of it, so I googled.

Boyce Park Ski Area unveils $1M renovations, sets attendance record

boyce_300.jpg
On Jan. 26, the Boyce Park Ski Area

unveiled $1 million worth of renovations and upgrades. Approximately

1,700 people used the slopes during Boyce's grand re-opening

weekend, more than during its entire 2005 ski season.

The park

boasts a newly constructed snow tubing area and two new magic carpet

lifts. The magic carpet, a slow-moving conveyor belt that returns

novice snowboarders and skiers

to the top of the mountain, has replaced the slope's two rope. A second

magic carpet lift serves the snow

tubing area. "We've been evaluating the park's snow feature to make it

more fiscally

viable. The newest way to better lift people up these slopes is with

the magic carpet ride, especially for a tube park," says Tom Donatelli,

with Allegheny County. "We have the longest snow tubing park in this

region."

Upgrades to existing chairlifts were completed in order to meet new

state regulations. The project also included the installation of a new pumping station. Northside-based Pashek Associates designed the attraction's popular snowtubing facilities. Geotechnical advisor is Strip District-based

CDM.

Closed

during the 2006-2007 ski season for renovations, Boyce Park Ski Area

received $550,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and

Natural Resources, $300,000 from the Regional Asset District and

$200,000 from Allegheny County.

The ski facilities are part of

the 1,096-acre Boyce Park, which is located at 675 Old Frankstown Rd.

in Monroeville and Plum. The attraction offers rental equipment for

skiers

and snowboarders, as well as private and group lessons.

Boyce is sick, kind of, it costs like 9$ a day and they dont care what you do, i go and just build jumps and little jibs all over its 180 vertical feet

i just hope we have a good winter this year so they can open and stay open, the only thing that sucks is that they took out one of the 2 chir lifts and put in snowtubing on that half of the hill which is a bummer but for 9$ you cant beat it
