Did accutane affect your skiing ability?

i just got put on the stuff amd was wondering if any of you have been on it and if it affected your skiing ability.

Nope, just make sure you have a shitload of chapstick with you. When I was on that in highschool I couldn't go an hour without chapstick without my lips cracking and bleeding...and that wasn't even skiing.

I already had little back problems before accutane but while on it, it was pure hell. My back killed constantly. It was worth it though.

lmfao, they hype that shit up so much.I did it for a few months, it made my face TOTALLY clear (shame it isn't anymore), and I was fine.

Course, I been crazier than a bastard my whole life anyway, so I guess that I'm not the best experiment for that.

you will obviously become a worse skier.

a billion studies have already covered that. they dont care for anything else actually when testing drugs.

just finished accutane last week..I had zero joint pain..I run and swim alot so i was concerned taking it in the summer. the only problem is that i ended up being part of the 3% that does not see a change in their acne...i just spent five months the most dry..not fun..but worth it for most i guess.

let's analyze this, OP has an icon of a giant rainbow penis llama thing... OP asks obvious trolling question... OP thinks that a pill to clear your skin from blemishes will affect skiing. your answer...

yes, accutane will affect your skiing. stay off the mountain forever just to be safe.

no buy skiing affected my skin big time. make sure you get like the strongest moisturizer you possibly can and put on generously before skiing. also make sure you keep hydrated. other than that no, it did not affect my skiing.

oh i how love that pill. i had always gotten those really big under the skin zits. the ones you cant pop and just hangout forever. seriously, i had some last over 3 months.

accutane fixed that. i dealt with zits from age 12 to 23. and poof, 5 months later, no more zits

you will be fine OP. unless you have to have your colon removed

hey man it's a bunchie, the best meme on the internet. evidence:

You'll be fine OP. I'm on accutane since August and the only ''reaction'' i had was chapped lips, other then that it's all good and those pills are fucking magical. I've dealt with zits from 13 to 17 and since i'm on accutane, all zits are gone after 3 months of cure. I know that secondary effects are differents on each person, but none of these will affect your skiing ability.

I took accutane fro a month a few years back and it gave me pretty bad anxiety attacks, so i stoped it completely, also my eyes cant produce tears anymore because of it, so about 5 or 6 times a day I have to put in thease fake tear things.

it depends on the person (im being completely honest based on my experiences and what doctors told me). i never had any problems with joint pain, but it is a possibility for some people. i think it more exaggerates existing joint pain, but if you are in good shape, it shouldnt be a problem. also it can cause depression and lack of energy, which could also make it so you never really have any motivation to try new things or anything. again, that wasnt a problem for me.

the only thing that i can say will definitely happen is your face will hurt a lot. your lips will be ridiculously chapped, and will probably bleed at times. you should get some good chapstick (not just like regular stick stuff, ask your dermatologist about any they recommend or use like vasoline or something). also get something like a yowie or a rime face tube. a thin polyester/spandex blend face tube will protect your skin from any wind or sun and things hitting it that will agitate it, while still wicking sweat that can cause more acne to form, and it wont be too hot (baically like a second skin). and your face will hurt less at the end of the day.

hope that helps

You better get used to having chapstick on your body at all times, because your lips will peel terribly. But for me atleast it was so worth it

It doesn't really affect your skiing ability all that much, however, they don't mention that it can cause urethritis which wasn't pleasant at all.

I was on it and it worked amazingly for me. No major side effects and the secret to preventing crazy chapped lips is putting vasaline on your lips right before you go to bed. Then throughout the day use hella chapstick/vasaline and you should be good! Doing that, my lips never got bad at all.

Yeah but if you're getting joint pain you should stop taking it ASAP. That's not a side effect but more of an adverse effect if your body isn't reacting right to it. You don't fuck around with joint pain.

theres already been 3 side effects of this medication that could effect someone's skiing mentioned in this thread, the main one being about joints, I know my shoulders and sides of my neck got super tense when I was on it.

if you guys are gonna try to hate you should at least have a vague idea understanding of what you're talking about, otherwise its just ineffective and annoying.

really? thats the best you can come up with? if everyone followed that rule this forum probably wouldn't even exist

you're the one who should have googled before you make bullshit posts broadcasting your own ignorance on the subject being discussed by others.

im into my second day.

ive had

dry lips and dizziness, ... i was worried about the joint pain because i work out 4-5 times a week and want to be skiing to the best of my ablitity.

thanks for all the help!

I don't disagree with the spirit of what you said really at all, actually I usually think you're pretty spot on. You're obviously perceptive/intelligent, but I feel like I come across just incredibly harsh posts from you quite a bit. So, I suppose it is sort of a camel's back situation. I didn't even mean to come across as super confrontational (I know that I did, though) just sort of had the thought like, "what's this guy's deal?"

I can be a huge dick on here but I swear to god I have never gone after anyone I saw as "weak", I'm not trying to put people down who are already feeling down, also don't ever attack people for something they can't control. I just like to call out the guys who are also dicks to other people only I can be overly viscous about it which is what makes me occasionally regret what Ive said

yes by giving me ulcerative colitis and knocking me out for a year. it completely removed my ability to ski.

that probably wont happen to you though lol...................
