It's definitely gotten way worse over the past couple weeks. More than I'd expect for the transition to the off-season. These random hate threads, man, what the fuck?
 
It does happen every year. Anytime the snow melts, people freak the fuck out and shit gets crazy.

Best thing we can do is downvote and start a quality conversation. Don't spread more hate because someone is hating. Post up a counterpoint view and get a good discussion going.

Afterall, this place is what you make of it.
 
It ended better than the Onion's facebook post earlier today titled: This is a big cock which linked to a picture of a giant penis. It was not cool man.
 
Just ignore them, there is nothing worse than a thread of hate that no one has replied, that way the hater can revel is his own embarassment

I dont get why we dont ban some of the hatefull trolling. Theres really no place for it in these forums. When I started coming to this website people would be popular if the contributed, not if they pissed people off.

NSG has become one of the most rotten group of individuals, there is absolutely nothing positive in this forum. It used to be that if someone did something stupid he would get called out and made fun of for it and it was deserved. Now people get a kick out of being the most obnoxious possible to piss people off for no reason.

One person posts needless hate and then the thread direction follows because of all the weak minded people trying to be NS cool.

I cant see what people like this bring to the website, I just cant. I would like to see a lot more banning of trolls so we could clean up NSG a little bit and be able to have smart discussions once again.

For now the website has gotten so bad that I dont even browse any section other than Media and Arts. If that forum gets invaded by these little shits Im just going to stop using newschoolers and just go on reddit.

It pisses me off that the site has become like this, I was an intern here for a long time so NS has always been very important to me, I hate to see it becoming what it is.

Yes this happens every year but this year is different, far worse. It used to be that the trolls would post "In B4" or tell you to pee in a solid 7s but. Now the trolls are needlessly insulting and look a lot more like bullies than trolls. I have seen it in far too many threads, it is far far worse than any other year.

We should bring out the ban hammer and offer two warning bans followed up by a final IP adress ban for the worst of the trolls.
 
Thats complete fucking bullshit. Yes most of the time ignoring the person is enough but some of these trolls are starting tendencies and its getting out of hand.

A troll enters a thread, posts something negative and people follow that direction. Sometimes its funny, a lot of them are just plain insulting for no reason.

Your basically saying as a moderator, your going to sift out people doing silly things and keep the hurtfull ones who just insult people for no reason because its trolling.

Your letting this website turn to shit, I dont give a fuck if you dont think your a baby sitter, its your job as a moderator to keep this place fun enough so people want to come back.

I have no clue how straight up bullying is accepted, IT CONTRIBUTES NOTHING! It pisses off people who are here to have a serious discussion, they leave and we are left with only idiots and bullies.

Seriously I cant believe your attitude with this, you shouldn't be a mod, your bringing this forum in a wrong direction.

 
Im not just talking about my situation, im talking about the needless hate. I dont think I have ever commented anything hatefull on ns without being provoked. Im dont think you should ban people responding with hate, you should ban people starting hate unprovoked and for no reason.

Its not a matter of them getting under my personal skin or not, there is no room for actual discussion on nsg because anything will get made fun of or insulted.

I pointed you out because you were the only one to outline your way of thinking towards this.

If you're going to accept the help of the people who took time out to actually help, then accept that your gf is going to be judged, especially in a cruel/laugh seeking fashion, as well.

Dumb threads elicit dumb responses. There are ample threads that are quality and contain rational, generally positive discussion. 99/100 it's pretty apparent where a thread is going after glancing at the title, or the OP at most. Avoid shitty threads...

And MatRich...holy shit man....I mean this, and not in a mean, "trolly" way...you should take a break from NS. If it's all really having such a negative effect on you, I think that speaks to what's happening with you. I've been pretty active in posting for 5 years, and have been reading longer than that, and you are greatly overstating the troll/negativity problem.
