DEW TOUR SUPERPIPE TANNER VS SIMON

Heres some of what i was thinking. Today during the finals we all saw both Tanner and Simon lay down legit runs, but i was thinking was Tanner holding back on his last run? The answer is yes i mean im pretty sure he has the style the tricks and ablity to have taken it, but i say to you why not? I personally think that he is saving it for the x-games, he could have pulled out the double, which we all know he has, but instead he put down a good safe final run, putting him in third. So i think this means that we are gunna see some crazy shit in X-games, crazy! I would like to hear your thoughts, and not taking anything away from Simons win he is an amazing skiier and athlete.

ya i do think that he sand bagged a bit, i would have liked to see him do some crazy shit but he didn't, we all know he can and they were even talking about it during the broadcast that he didin't ski to his full potential, he had the opportunity to lay down a supier sick pipe run but he didn't sieze the opportunity. im not saying his run wasn't sick it just has room for improvement

sorry but I completely dissagree, tanner dosnt care much about competitions anymore, he probably holded back in the pipe because hes not liking how the juging is spin to win now so he does his own thing. hes obviously not riding with a win win win must win attitude but more with a having fun skiing atitude. I dont think hes holding back to suprise us at x games, he just dosnt want to (sell out ( my quotations are broken) ) and do fast spins he just wants to have fun. he has been practicing though so I think we will see it pulled out at x games because its more prestigiouse ( to some ( note quotation)) and he has to defend his title. personaly I like what tanner is doing right now though, he might not spin unatural 12s in the pipe but man is he intertaining to watch, and thats where I want to see skiing heading towards

judging was so fuckin retarded, like, worse then usual. all they wanted was a tanner dumont showdown, even as a huge tanner fan, i think dorey shoulda gotten 1st, if not 2nd. he killed it.

it sucks that your quotation mark key is broken because i spent more time decoding your post than reading it

^^ You both make great pts, the judging was deffinetly screwy and it i like where tanner is going to it was deffinetly a much steezer run

You could also argue the point that Tanner just wanted to keep his points high for the Dew Cup at the end of the tour. By putting down a solid second run that he could do in his sleep he pushed himself from fourth to third thus keeping himself high in the point count. I think at the last stop of the dew tour and the X-games we are going to see the double and maybe the switch ten at the end of his run in order to lock down first place finishes.

umm he did get second. doreys run was sick but he didnt grab on his double or his switch ten.

i dont know why you guys are talking tanner vs. simon (aka homo). you should be talkin about tanner vs. dorey (who had the best run by far) dorey should have won, his was the best. simon is a homo..nuff said

1) Tanner definitely cares about comps, that's how you make money. You may not agree but dudes who only film and are among the best in the sport like pep don't get near as much. And also, if Tanner didn't care, he would not be there.
2) Not a single skier in the world does unnaty 12. However, Tanner does do an ungrabbed 12 and at the last stop I think an ungrabbed 10 which is being as spin to win as anybody right now. (Not hating, I think it's sick just your point is wrong.)
3) I hate it when anybody says pro skiers are "sell outs" for doing something they don't like. Al skiers are corporate sluts who get paid to market goodies to you that are priced far higher than they should be. (Once again, not proposing we change anything, that's just the way the world works.) If somebody paid Tanner good money to put a sticker of a giant cock on his helmet you can bet he would, and so would I for that matter.
4) Tanner isn't holding back to surprise people later on. He is a smart competitor. I'm pretty sure he can't stomp his double every time and undoubtedly thought it was in his best interest not to throw it. Also he wanted a bigger spin on his last run but something was a little funky, you could see it.
Longest post I have ever written on NS but I just hated everything you said for some reason.

i think tanner deffinatly held back, he won in breck and the dew tour is all about points so he still has alot of points and there is one more stop so he will deffinatly b going for the win at the last stop and in every major pipe competition the tanner and simon battle is always there

I think the judging in the top 3 was perfect. Dorey's run was nuts, but it wasn't as smooth as Dumont's. Tanner probably just hadn't been practicing his double before his runs and didn't want to get injured or drop several standings doing a trick he hadn't practiced. I think he had hoped to score better with a sw 9 on the last hit, but he just didn't have enough speed. He's still in first place, after all.

Riddle should have been top three, although all four of those guys killed it. Tough judging. Tanners shiftys were so the best part of the dew tour so far

dumont didnt grab his cab 10 or 12 either...same with tanners 3rd place run cab 7 and 12. just thought i'd throw that in there. i thought judging was pretty on point. FUCK YEAH BONE.

After last night run i feel like I could watch dorey, duncan and tanner ski pipe all day

they make it look so easy and smooth.

Simon is REALLY good too but his style is a tad too agressive for me in the pipe.

I think there 'll be more then 3-4 contender to the podium this year

yeah i agree with that. don't forget about the frenchmen bertoni and rolland either. they may not fit into the steeziest pipe riders category but bertoni is as tech as anyone- last year he was throwing sw right 10s first hit and rolland is one of the only guys that will challenge simon for amplitude. plus he's got a dope sw double which he showed in tignes in the big air.

i predict one of them will podium at x, mark my words.

yeah i though the judging was pretty good to. but i wanted dorey the win because i hate watching 10s and 12s. i think double flips should scored so much higher.

Ya I wouldn't mind seeing a little more innovation, like grab the spin or don't do it, and more doubles, but doubles don't seem to be as big of a deal for grabs, just my humble opinion.
