Dew tour and Kerri Miller

I have been witnessing alot of young kids that are just alittle to young to be in the Dew tour that somehow make it in thanks to Kerri Miller the Chomo. The Dew tour says they have an open lottery pick for the qualifier yet Kerri can get every single one of his kids in the Dew tour. Thought this was alittle unfair to the other pros and ams trying to get in this year like Hornbeck, Brogan, Moxham, and B -paul just to name a few. That obviously have way more style and a better chance at the Dew tour than all those little brats that make it in threw Kerri. Just wanted to see what ur guys thoughts were on that.

its is a good first post.

there are alot of pro skiers at breck on their own dime just to get in to the open qualifier. its a big secret and a scam to get in.you had to register on hidden site weeks ago, then fill out forms that said you were qualified, then wait for them to accept. nothing to do with a lottery.

-my mommy says "im qualified" and she'll suck you off!,

(response) oh, ok, would you like to be sponsored as well,?

-sure, that would be cool.

how did people get pre-qualied for slope? some big names in the open list and smaller ones on the invite.

Nice alias, I see you don't have the sack to make this post on your real name.

As far as who is getting in, I would like to see Hornbeck in Dew Tour, but i don't think he can really compete with the double flip madness that is going on at Dew Tour, same goes for Brogan. Moxham may be another story.

As for the kids that Kerry helps out, they all slay, like rediculously. And they are probably all better contest riders than the guys that you mentioned that aren't in Dew Tour. Some of the kids that ski with Kerry are Nick Goepper, Chris Laker, Brian Kish, Mitch Gilman, Christian Allen, and a number of others. All of these kids slay. Check out the their comp standings at the bigger am contests over the past few years, they are always in semi's and often in finals at these contests. Goepper and Laker are the ultimate midwest duo both with multiple doubles, both can spin both ways really well, and both murder rails. Mitch is arguably the best kid in the sport for his age (12) doing cork 10's in the pipe and kangs on jumps. Christian and Kish are both really talented pipe skiers, and Kish would have easily been in the finals of Aspen open last year had he not gotten hurt. There are a number of other kids who know also know Kerry who are in Dew Tour, though I don't know if they got in because of him or not.

It sounds to me like you are a little jealous that there are some crazy talented young kids out there that slay harder than a lot of pros and that there is someone (Kerry) who is out there to help them get where they want to be in the sport. You know who else is one of Kerry's kids but is all grown up now? Tanner Hall. Alexis Godbout and Mike Wilson are also both former kids of Kerrys.

and thats the point, its not how good you are, its who you know.

and better yet!, how much your parents will pay to have you ski with miller.

Wow you really didn't read my post at all. You can't just go up to Kerry and throw money at him. He does it for the love of the sport and helping kids out. He only really helps the best up and coming young talent. You can't be just a moderately good skier and then have Kerry help you out and make you pro. These kids put in a shit ton of work to get as good as they are.

And as for who you know, yes that is a big part of it. You don't get sponsored and go places by not knowing anyone in the industry. Sponsors are looking for someone who they think will do a good job at representing their brand, so getting to know that athlete is a huge part of it. This thread is retarded. you guys shouldn't go talking about things/people that you know nothing about.

kerri miller is THE MAN. he has coached the likes of tanner hall, and continues to know and control the freestlye world. how he possesses this power is unknown, but its real. read up, dont take my word for it.

Yea that's what I thought.

What I would like to know is why are you guys (thankagaper and OP) hating so hard on Miller? Have you ever met the guy? Do you know how much he has done for the sport?

Rules of the tour? Like being really good to get into a high level contest? I don't know of anyone on that list who doesn't deserve to be there. Besides, all those on the qualifier list still need to do well enough in the qualifier to actually make it onto the tour.

I just feel it's alittle unfair how he can get them all a spot and meanwhile all these other ams and pros are trying to get in but all the spots are filled. Yes they are talented but when it comes to style and ease of a trick who has more style Hornbeck or Laker?

who can actually air out of a pipe?

the truth is not hate.

calling people jealous is hate. and offering a doctors opinion of mental well being (onNS) was funny.

Look, there are tons of people who would love to be in Dew Tour, myself included. But those spots are earned. Dew Tour is only a partially open contest. Anyone can sign up, but out of those people, only certain ones get picked. This is based mostly on their previous competition results. Now Kerry can put in a good word for them and tell them to sign up so that they might get picked, but that doesn't mean they will make it. There are a lot of kids that Kerry coaches that aren't on that list, probably because they weren't picked by the Dew Tour committee.

And sure, Brogan and Hornbeck are steezy as fuck and both sick riders, but they aren't contest riders. Contest riding in this day and age, whether you like it or not, requires a huge, highly technical bag of tricks. You need multiple doubles, you need to be able to do big spins both ways, and you need to nail grabs. And from where I'm sitting, it looks like Laker has put down more high quality contest runs and had more top contest finishes than Hornbeck, Brogan, Delorme, b-paul, etc.

Good to hear, I think you're pretty funny yourself. The most incoherent person on this site, but nevertheless funny.

delorme won nz open everyone forgets that. but fuck these haters kill it my niggas the riders on this list all earned their spots kerry kids or not i didn't see one name that didn't belong there

moxham deserves to be in, the kid has multiple doubles and dub flats not to mention he kills it on rails. hes been workin his ass off and definitely deserves to be there over some kids that got in

my boy evan schwartz is on his own dime doin the tour...taken a semester off during the winter is how you do it and live the college dream haha

Yeah, shit is whack. Open lottery my ass. True that its always been this way, but that doesn't make it right...

people might forget cuz its at least 3 years ago...and in skiing, nobody gives a shit what was 3 years ago cuz u could still win slopestyle comps with 2 sw 7s and a sw 10......those times are over

Yes, completely different.
and Jibjib, you say these comp spots are "earned," what, by paying K. Miller? i know his program, and I do think it is lame how he pulls the strings he does for the people he does. First hand example: he offered to take me to SuperPark when i was like 15 and completely unqualified to be there. needless to say it didn't pan out, and thank Jah. but I'd say that is generally the case with Kerry and his kids, taking spots that more deserving skiers could be filling.... and ya he coached the likes of T. Hall, and he will be sure to brag all about it. i'm just not a fan....

never hate on kerry all the kids he puts in are for a reason. because they kill it. kerry knows whats up and knows whats good for the sport. stop hattin on people u dont know

still its fucked up that horbeck b paul moxham arent in slope, and even though it was a diff disipline beau wells got in. no hate but he will get his time. he is the next twall t hall crossover

ok everyone should chill cuz these so called "little kids" are the future of the sport when all the pros who are already on their way to being washed up are completely washed up they will be watching these kids win events and have amazing film segments.

Hornbeck is slaying urban in MN right now anyway. Laker and Goepper are going to kill it, they deserve their spots.

Wow what a suprise yet again none of the kids kerri got in didn't make it to semi-finals. Kerri has got some good kids alright hahahahahaha yeah right. all of em placed at least 20th or lower.

Dew needs new judges bud, Joss Christensen did left rodeo 5 to switch right 10 to switch left double 10, thats a Dew Tour run right there....
