cant really find a good thread about it so i was wondering if i should detune my edges or sand them down or whatever. I'd just like to know what the best method to do it is. Or if i shoud even do it or not.

i like to ride them slidders (rails, etc.) and jumpers alot so would it help if i sanded em down?

whateuh think?

thanks

dont detune them with a file. try a gummi stone. it will round them without being as harsh as a file. just do it underfoot too

I would only detune if you're going to hit a lot of rails. I used to do it to my skis for when I was out of state, but since there's no rails up here I stopped. It definitely makes harder to edge. If you are going to detune though, I would suggest a bevel, and only slightly. It's really easy to get carried away with the file...

if you are going to detune, use a gummy stone.

or you could just hit boxes for your first few runs through the park. jibbing dulls your edges, and it is alot harder to catch an edge on a box, opposed to a rail.

If you're hitting rails right away with new skis, detune with a gummystone underfoot. It will save you not only from the pain in the ass of hitting rails with sharp edges, but you will avoid edge cracks early on in the skis life.
