Detune skis or no

I just purchased the new revolt 104. They are not my dedicated park ski, but I am 100% going to hit rails on them most days. I roll through the park no matter what on a daily basis.

Would y’all still detune underfoot? I never have detuned new skis, but all these forums got me nervous.

I wouldn't you could damage the edge, I'de take a burnisher and make a hook shaped edge. DM me for more info I've been a ski tech for about a decade.

i've never detuned skis in many many years of park skiing. it just happens naturally and i'd rather save some edge for the rest of the mountain. if you're catching edges on rails on a regular basis perhaps you should detune, though. just depends how you slide rails

This also risks edge cracks though. I'm not sure if its the focused force on the sharp edge or the associated heat that does it, but either way a rounded edge is the answer to mitigate cracks. Its just a tradeoff of durability vs edge grip.

You right!

if you are skiing powder on them then you won't notice the detuned edges underfoot. also feel like it helps for when you are hitting rocks
