Anyone else on here a Red Wings fan? Injuries have hurt them again, but after the all star break we will bounce back like always. Datsyuk was leading team in points before he got hurt, so he will start doing magic again. Cleary is dominating. We need Holmstrom in front of the net taking a beating. Can't forget Brad Stuart who is #2 defenseman on the team in my opinion. Red Wings are about to make another run at the cup. Predicted to win cup. Let's go!
 
I used to be a HUGE hockey fan before they canceled the 04-05 season, and never really got back into it after. No idea why really. The Wings are fucking awesome though. I still watch them in the playoffs, and I'll occasionally make it to a game during the season. It would be sick if they won the cup.
 
I used to like the Red Wings back when they were still underground, but now that they are so mainstream I just don't feel the same.
 
I'd have to agree with you on Flippula. but not on Abdelkader. Abdelkader is just like Draper, always hustling, but never doing anything. He's young though, he will get better fer sure.

love the wings. i miss going to the games, my family had a season pass and it was so much fun goin down to the joe and then eating in greek town.
 
I'm sorry, but how can a hockey team be "underground" vs mainstream? You mean like they have more bandwagon fans now or something?
 
i wasnt really raised on hockey, but now i'm surrounded by it. all my friends are wings fans so i watch quite a bit, just a few gripes
 
i couldn't agree more. darren helm too. that's what makes them so good. it's not that their best players are better than everyone elses, it's that their worst players are so fucking sick. they don't necessarily pile up the points, but if you watch these guys forecheck or play the pk, they do exactly what they need to, which is prevent pucks from going into your net and buying time for your stars to get their breath back and get out again. they seem to all perform their roll extremely well

and then of course there's nick lidstrom, who's probably the second greatest defenseman ever to play the game, and in his 19th season he's STILL killing it
