i think its more the stigma of the large population of spoiled kids and young adults who drive bmw's (not people such as your father... mine as well). 99.9% of the time they are extremely arrogant and obnoxious.
 
how the fuck is a large SUV impractical? Maybe if you live in some 3rd world country with itty bitty streets where you can't drive them. But here in the US, the only complaint could be gas consumption. Just because you arn't using the vehicle to it's full capacity everyday doesn't make it impractical.
 
I can GUARANTEE you that 99.8% of people that drive this car are old. Most likely in the 75-90 range. The other .02% that drives it is me.

amazing amount of horrible responses in this thread. Its like a bunch of 16 year old kids sitting around a table at lunch hating on cars that they stand no chance to own or drive. Some people need to get a clue and realize they cant drive mommy's car for their entire life.

To be honest I'm not a fan of hybrid cars, but I don't think they are a trashcan on wheels.

I think they are way more respectable then an obnoxiously huge hummer that needs to stop for gas every kilometre. Plus who doesn't like clean air?
 
false...hybrids pollute the air almost as much...the electric part is running at such low speeds it barely stops any air effects. Giant trucks such as hummers and escalades are fucking awesome. If you can afford to drive one, why not? The only real way to solve the air pollution problem will be driving electric or alternate fuel cars. Hybrids are not the answer because there so ineffective. On top of this, once all these cars need battery replacements, those things are so much worse for the environment then the exhaust pollution.
 
it takes way more energy to make and dispose of prius' batteries than it does for the equivalent gas. so yea you may be saving gas, but it in end you really aren't a super nature lover doing the world a favor, you're just as bad as everyone else.
 
Mehhh...rice? I think those are alot more tasteful than ricey buuuut thats just my opinion.

I dont own a Miata either, I drive a Subaru.
