DESPERATE last minute boot fit question

I just bought a pair of 28.5 Dalbello panterra 100 and they fit pretty well and everything in the shop but now that im home and put them on for a good amount of time i start to feel pressure around the width.

my other option at the shop was a pair of 29.5 salomon quest pro 110 that ended up with the same price and everything but they have a custom shell that forms to your foot. Should I switch over to the salomons? even though i read that they're made mostly for touring and backcountry and I'm mostly on piste and park (even though my goal is to end up skinning up big mountains and shit like that).

So basically my question is that will the quest pros be good for me atm when im on groomers? and if I should go up to a size 29.5 is better than the tight 28.5 fit (i wear 11/11.5 street shoes)?

im headed out for a spring break trip tomorrow so i gotta make up the decision pretty quick.

Whoever is doing your boot fitting isn't very good if you he gave you the option of either 29.5 quest or 28.5 panterra. (I'll assume it's late season and he is just trying to sell boots, regardless if they're the perfect fit).

If you fit the panterra 28.5 then I'd even say you should be in a 27.5 quest pro (Would be unbearably tight before molding, after it will be snug but comfortable).

The quest pro and panterra are in the same category, both have hike functions, both do fine in park and all mountain. Panterra might have a little more cushioning for jumps in its boot board.

Just wearing the boots doesn't really tell you too much. But there's probably a better chance you'll get a better fit with the quest.

IMO you should try to find a x-pro 100 in a 27.5 or 28.5. Or go to another boot fitter

I think he gave me those options because that's about all he's got left since they're having a big sale going on. They have an x max 100 in a 28.5 also but for some reason he kind of ruled that out... Do you think the quest 29.5 will be way too big after they're heat molded? Or should I just have him grind out a little bit of the panterra and go with it. Im just worried that I'm bigger than a 28.5...

Do not make a rushed, desperate last minute decision about buying the right boot. Getting boots at a super good deal is essentially worthless if they don't fit you properly. Do not get them unless they have been fit by a trained boot-fitter who has assessed your footshape, looked at your foot inside the bare shell (without liner) and has determined that "boot X" is the best one for you.

If you pick a boot because it's "all they have left in my size" then I guarantee you will need this thread in a week:

A disaster in the making,

Study the sticky boot thread at the top of the page, return those and spend the summer studying boots for a purchase thats extremely well thought out in the fall.

My salomon ghosts 80s were super tight when j bought them earlier this year but after riding them for three weeks they broke in super well, as long as they aren't crazy tight and your toe has a little space between it and themes of the boot they should be fine, unless you have really wide feet cause salomon is a bit tight

The boots will pack out after a day and you'll gain anywhere between half a size to a full size in room which should help with the pressure. Also if you still have pressure points after they've packed out a boot fitter can grind, punch and make adjustments to create more room.
