ok, so ive been workin on putting together a C.V. for ski shop jobs in NZ this summer. this is what i got so far. i dont think im sold on the layout, as its can be either compressed to 1 page and be tight, or expanded to two and be sparse, gotta figure that out. also, i dont know that i like the bamboo thing, i feel its slightly distracting, but i do like presenting my name in that fashion. hum... any ideas on rewording things or shit like that, def. be appreciated!

thankshttp://www.sharebigfile.com/file/95999/pg1-pdf.html

its a PDF btw.

you have a spelling mistake in your reference section you'll want to fix

i would suggest you put the country code into the reference numbers, meaning like the full thing as they would dial it (0-1-... or however it is)

i wouldn't have gone for the bamboo design, but in a ski shop setting it might be to your advantage

a professional job i would use plain text basically

you should definitely include a cover letter

the cover letter should outline why you want to travel to new zealand, what you hope to achieve when you are there, how working is their shop would help you achieve your goals, and how they would benefit from your skills etc

also, remove marital status, it's not required or relevant

actually, i recommend you get rid of the flashy design all together

this is/should be a professional looking resume

and assuming you are sending this electronically, whoever is reading it may think, what the hell, why is this thing a 10 meg file?

or even worse, perhaps someone's email provider will not accept the attachment because it it too big

Ya I would definitely ditch the theme, you want to look as professional as possible. I just wrote my CV the other day, and I replicated my parents that they used when applying to pfizer at high level positions so I hope its an accurate depiction of what they should look like. Here is a screenshot:

thanks. i agree on the design. i think its too distracting. i do think i will still use some color to help organize the information, but in doing that i can get that shit laid out a bit more effectively. but thanks for the advice, always good to get some outside opinions!
