Denver vs Colorado Springs

I'm planning to move to Colorado, but I'm split between Denver and CS. Denver has a younger crowd with more of a nightlife, but CS has an older crowd with more scenery/nature stuff. On the otherhand, Denver has on average ~11% higher wages than CS.

I'm completely split down the middle. I have not visited either of these cities, but have been researching each for hours. I'll be sending out applications soon, but I'm looking to concentrate my job search in one rather than two.

Which one do you like better, NS?

I just moved to denver for school and coming from seattle I didnt thhink there was any other city I could see myself living in permanently, but denver has made me re-think that. Such a dope city

I live in Monument, about 20 minutes north of Colorado Springs. That said, move to Denver. I'm getting out of here, up towards Boulder, in about 8 months and can't wait.

You'll hate yourself if you choose to live in the Springs. You're also almost an hour closer to summit valley if you choose Denver.

Denver is far superior to Colorado Springs in every way. I hated living in Denver though, but this is because I hate all big cities.

I'm not dead-set on actually living in Denver. I may live around in a burb like Golden and hop on 6 for 20 minutes.

Thanks for the input everyone.

im in the springs for college atm

don't come here man stay in Denver its like 20times better way better for young people

Colorado springs is an old military town everyone is white trash and mean as fuck it sucks

Only nice things in the springs are garden of the gods and broadmoor, not a whole lot else that every city doesn't already have.

Denver is the clear decision. Colorado Springs is, well, shitty. You would also be further away from the resorts.

I would also add, I live DOWNTOWN Denver. Its pretty sweet being able to walk everywhere and always have something to do, but it is expensive. My next place will definitely be further out of the city.

i also go to school in the springs. i enjoy it here, everyone is pretty mellow for the most part. that said, denver is much closer to skiing. you can drive up 24 to breck from the springs, but significant snowfall can make the trip (either on 24 or 25-->470-->70) wicked fucking long

Im sorry. I grew up in Monument. Went to Lewis-Palmer. Now live in Denver.

Golden is sick. Cap Hill/Wash Park area is awesome (bias cause thats were i live). Try to stay east of Colorado and South of I-70.

haha, so much this.

Denver is far and away much better than Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs is essentially a giant military base with NORAD and the academy right there. People wish it were still the 1950s there.

This. Homes close to wash park are pretty pricey, but if you look east of DU there's smaller homes and the area is still nice (only about 1/2 mile form wash park). The majority of the population in the area seems around your age and the light rail cuts right through the area so you can get downtown easily. Only downside is the i70 mountains shitshow that never fails to disappoint.

Good luck finding an apartment here in Denver if you're going that root...

But seriously do not go to the Springs, especially if you hold any liberal values.
