Denied warranty claim- impact

Are these worth having a repair shop try to fix( i think if i skied as is water would get into the core)?

are they worth anything at all to resell?

They’re 2020 line 178 twall pro

You’re right and once the water gets in the whole ski snaps. I would try a fix at home just somehow seal it from the snow and water. Mine did the exact same then snapped later. Luckily even with 2yr old skis ON3P sends you a new one…

You fucked up. You should have badgered the shop you purchased them from and used this gem...

"IT WASN'T IMPACT DAMAGE! I WAS JUST SKIING ALONG ON A BLUE TRAIL AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT SNAPPED! WHY ARE YOU SELLING DEFECTIVE GEAR?!? I'M GOING TO SUE!!!"

ride them untill they die....Eventually that will flop off, the edges will hold it together for a while, eventually they will start to pop out, then its a downward spiral from there.

Not worth reselling, if you are handy you could try using some rivets and a thin metal plate on top with some epoxy to reinforce the tip. On the base, you could sink the rivets into the ptex a bit and ptex or wax over them so it would still slide really well and not catch. No shop would take on that liability, but these would make great street or rail skis if you did some basic repair like that

This +1

There was a thread where someone repaired their splitting tips/tails with rivets, I'm sure you could find a sheet of aluminum somewhere local too.

Use West Systems G/flex 650 if you do use epoxy, it's the best stuff on the market for ski repair.

Try and fix em. Ride em till they die or keep em as street skis. No resale value. But you cam get some more life out of them.

Best part about fucked up skis with shitty repairs is not having to worry about fucking up your skis.

Hope they hang on for a while and give you some more use!

sounds like they’ll be some early season beaters but i’ll see what i can do is far as sealing it up.. thanks guys

yep that's the ticket. they're not getting rehabbed at this point, best you can do is try to slow down the water getting inside as that speeds up the destruction. but it's right at the front of the ski, really not too dangerous a thing to use them in a lot of cases

I partially snapped the tail of my masterminds back in like 2014 and I was able to warranty it. Maybe line is less generous with their warranties now. Although I did do it in the park it was still an impact with the snow

+1 to the G/flex 650. Epoxy in general, but especially marine, is your friend
