Demo Reel Draft and Critique - Justin Kauffman (+k)

Hey guys,

I've been working on this for quite awhile and finally have it to a stage that I like. I have yet to do any audio or color work but I'd love to hear some initial thoughts. I feel like it's a tad long for a reel but that was the best place to end the song in my opinion.

Let me know all of your feelings about it!

Little things you could change: - Start the video/song a little later by 2-3 seconds and have your logo fade in beforehand.

- Cut the logo out with the first cut or fade it out to where you cut it now

- Don't cut out the soccer shot right before he kicks the ball - cut it after the kick or further before

- Try to consolidate different lighting environments together (maybe? not sure about this), don't cut from night to day too much

- Maybe organize the footage more thematically, I didn't think the wedding shots fit well into the skiing and skating shots.

Stuff I REALLY liked

- The transition from the DJ mixing to the skateboarder. SO seamless, it was awesome

- The shot of the train bridge, sooo good

- Ending landscape shots were super sexy

Overall I thought it was pretty damn good. Perfect length, good variation in footage, song was a little cliche, but not too bad.
 
Only thing that gavin didn't mention that stood out to me was that I felt like the shot of the wedding brochure stuck out to me as lame compared to everything else. Nice Job!
 
Love watching reels like this! I thought all the shots were very well done! Not many critiques I would give it. I liked the music a lot too!
 
Thanks for the help guys and Gavin, thank you a ton! I love hearing your opinions and I'll look at incorporating those changes into the final. Any other critiques?
