Deli Sandwhiches

Back in HS there was a Deli that was open till 3 am that we would slide by every now and then at night. One of my buddies would always try and get the owner to make him a PB&J, “lemme get a BLT with peanut butter and jam- then hold the bacon lettuce and tomato”. Sometimes he would oblige (they didn’t normally make PB&J’s despite technically having all the ingredients) other times he would tell him to piss off and he’d just get a cheese steak instead.

so if you can’t get a PB&J I’d go for the cheese steak (assuming your deli balls like that).

I spent some time working at a local sandwich shop and honestly kind of liked it. Highly recommend gouda, bacon, diced apples, and apple butter on a sandwich.

I am very interested in trying this one. Did you ever make it hot?

If anyone's ever in Lafayette, CO stop by eats and sweets and order a sandwhich called the 'boulderite'. Cringey name but it is so bomb. I think it's just turkey/veggies/some sort of foofy mayo on homemade bread but that really undersells it you gotta try it for yourself. So dank.

Sadly been eating subway far more often these days not living in the northeast. Def can find some good sandwich shops but it's harder. I miss the days of even the local gas station having banger sandwiches.

Ya subway can distract you from all the hidden delis in your area. Some subway sammys slap though. I have had only a couple of good gas station subs but when you find them it's glorious.

If anyone is ever in NE Ohio or western PA and see a Sammy Quick Stop (sign is a big red stop sign) convenience store. They have amazing subs.
